we're so honored to welcome sean back to harrisburg for, i think the third time now. so without further, please join me in giving him a warm harrisburg welcome. okay. thank you, alex. it's always great to be here at the midtown scholar college bookstore. one of, i think my favorite bookstores in the whole world, and it's always slightly to me to see a whole bunch of turn up on a friday night to hear about quantum field theory. but i'm happy. it makes me happy for the world of that kind of thing happen. so we're here to celebrate this book, quantum and fields, which i a little bit about quantum mechanics but is mostly about quantum field theory. sometimes you'll be taught the quantum field theory is kind of a success asr to quantum mechanics, but that's not true. it's a version quantum mechanics. it's the quantum mechanics applied to sensibly enough. and is absolutely at the heart of all of modern physics. but we really don't talk about it enough. i think in discussions. so in biggest ideas books this is volume of a hopefully three volume set. the gimmick here is that
