hawaii's big island has never had a hurrican landfall in history. taking a live look right now in north carolina where they are also bracing for a storm. this is in the outer banks area. the currents are so strong people are being told not to swim in the ocean there... toss to greg dry air is starting to break mostly sunny skies will be common today with high temperatures just around the same as yesterday. 102 to 107 degrees will be common valley wide with winds out of the south between 5 and 15 mph possibly up to 20 mph the front making its way from the pacific northwest in on track to interact with southern nevada by late tonight into tomorrow morning and afternoon. however, mid and upper level maps indicate a relatively stable environment. this dries out the front slightly allowing for the valley and mountains to drop to between 15% and 20%. as a precaution, packing a small umbrella for the kids and/or leaving one in the car or office would not be a bad idea. as this occurs, temperatures begin to fall. tomorrow highs will range to 102 degrees, sa
