i mean, hawaii is really the only target. we'll see when we talk about hurricanes in the atlantic, regardless of where it forms, there's a bunch of caribbean islands. there's a bunch of stuff where we can get real-time ground observations here, not so much you've got hawaii and that's it for these particular storms in the central pacific missions, like the hurricane hunters use become even more crucial because it's the only way we can really get data yes. so when those hurricane hunter planes go out, they dropped hundreds of these vectors. this is called a drops on inside their sensors. it can measure moisture wind speed, wind direction, the parachute that's on the inside. this will come out to help it stabilize as it falls down through the storm. this is how we collect the real-time a really good data that we end up getting from these storms farms. this is a sensible demonstration compared to what we saw last week. i just want to point it out, not have not seen it both ways. >> yes. yes. yes yes. >> so for this particular st

they're moving towards hawaii. but good news here, they are weakening as they approach the islands just in the nick of time, that looks like those storm systems begin to fall apart. in fact, the gilmore was a major hurricane, a category 3. a one point now just a tropical depression as it continues to fall apart, making its way through the pacific right now. really an unfavorable conditions. but it's gonna make a close approach. the hawaiian islands are not totally scot-free from seeing some of the remnants move by maybe bring some gusty winds and maybe some brief periods of some heavy rain. you see what's left of bill me here. you see not much at all left of what was hector. so the storms fall apart. that happens sometimes when you get an active period of hurricanes, all of a sudden you get one hurricane out in front of the other and they churn up some cold water out ahead of it, less favorable conditions. that's what the runs right now. looking toward the islands, you can see so far so good. not bad out there righ

they're going to be rocking here in the next couple days in hawaii. here we go again, active out in the pacific is kind quiet, unusually quiet now. >> in the atlantic after really ferocious start. but now you can see a series of storms, 1, 2, boy, this one is a major hurricane. that is goma. another tropical system just developing out there. so all of a sudden we've got 3 of these storms headed toward the hawaiian islands. the first one. here we go. this the very latest on this one. you can see just an active series of thunderstorms rotating around ttying to organize the very latest forecast. this is a tropical storm hone sustained winds of 40 miles per hour. so really just a weak tropical storm at this point. but watch what happens as we put this into motion. it is going to start to track toward hawaii right now. it is 885 miles east-southeast of hilo. and here we go. putting into motion and starting to strengthen their ego, getting close to big island and by sunday, 08:00am in the morning you're talking near hurricane strength, 70 mile an hour winds
