i am a 24-year resident of hayes valley as both a renter and now a homeowner. i appreciate and support the existing businesses. i've taken my truck to sal street auto for years but as california leads the way in addressing global warning, electric cars and trucks will be replaced. i mean will replace gas vehicles and my husband and i placed our reservation for a rivian truck almost two years ago. we are happy that rivian has decided to become apart of haze valley and i appreciate the comments before me that they conducted their community outreach in such a proactive way. i'd like to say one of the letters that was received by the planning department described itself a haze valley safe and i get their e-mails, but i don't feel it's a representative organization. there's no sort of way of leaders. and so that letter that says while the haze valley residents is really representing the office [inaudible] thank you. >> okay. last call for public comment on this item. >> secretary: sir, i believe you conducted your public comment. >> yes. >> secretary: commissioners,

there's on going presence with our housing unit, and doing extra patrols on the hayes valley, churchill, and polk street. we're seeing extra deployment out there. we have seen some improvement in the slowing down the rate of car burglaries, so we do believe that is helping to make a difference in that regard. in the mission district, we've employed two additional teams in the castro. there are also traffic operations in the castro and on going uniform presence by way of passing calls at the 24 street corridor, 15 street and mission, 14 street, with fixed posts on saturdays, particularly when the flea markets are occurring. focusing on robberies and burglary enforcement. on third street for the last -- end of the summer or august and part of july, we've had increased deployment on third street, particularly on the night time weekend hours. we do believe that has helped. we have seen less gun violence along third street, so that's a good strategy, and that will continue. significant incidents: ingleside, phone spoofing. on august 22, at ingleside station received multiple calls from the p

we started our initial audit of the $67 million project in hayes valley. that was the subject of media attention. so we're auditing on that. just waiting for a complete response from the design professionals. and, all these other things that are coming to us by way of what's notable in criminal complaints. we're looking at that first before we look at anything else, but we will look at everything. this came to me and i was horrified when i found out about this in january of 2019 based on a complaint that we received from the planning department and we immediately dispatched a team of inspectors along with the fire department attended along with the city attorney. we issued 15 notices of violation. we take this very seriously. we want to make sure that the residents of that building are safe at least on a temporary basis. our acting deputy director was out there on august 13th and he can -- i'd like him to speak a little bit because he was there recently with our plumbing and electrical inspectors and he can explain to you and the other supervisors what the
