cbs 2 hazel sanchez is live outside the terminal with more hazel? >> reporter: diane, port authority police have identified the stabbing suspect as 22-year-old azeem breen from jamaica, queens. police say he did know his victim. but still, travelers that we spoke with say that doesn't give them any peace of mind. the attack happened at about 7:00 this morning, in the men's bathroom, next to the greyhound bus terminal on the lower level of the north wing of port authority. police say he stabbed a 47-year- old man multiple times and ran off. investigators are looking into the possibility that the victim had a relationship with the suspect's mother, but the motive for the attack is still unclear. the stabbing comes a month after a woman was allegedly raped inside a port authority parking garage. a second violent crime that has some travelers feeling very uneasy. >> oh, my gosh. really? happening here? >> i think that is ridiculous. the amount of police, what here. >> it is scary. it really is. you have to be very careful when you are traveling through

hazel sanchez with more on the breaking news. hazel? >> reporter: there's still an active scene here where the female officer was shot, and police tell us they have two potential suspects in custody right now, and they are being questioned at this hour, and this is what we know. police say the officer was a member, as you mentioned, of mayor de blasio's security team, and she was getting out of a vehicle, just beyond the crime tape scene behind me, when she was shot in the back pellet gun. the incident was around 7:15 tonight on east end avenue a few yards away from the front gate of gracie mansion. the governor was not here, but the officer just arrived as the advanced team. she was getting out of the passenger side of the car when she was shot in the back by a pellet gun. her partner quickly looked up, and from a window at an apartment building, he saw people inside. two people were seen running from the officer, and the officer pursued them, and they were quickly able to apprehend them. a 19-year-old man and 18-year- old woman are no

cbs 2's hazel sanchez has more now on the suffolk county wedding album fight. great memories. >> reporter: they smile when they look back on their wedding two years ago when they spared no expense including paying a photographer $3,800 to produce a wedding album. but two years later, they have only received a disk and must view their wedding photos on a laptop. they have been told if they want the wedding album, they will have to fork over an additional $500. >> i do not believe that he is due any extra money whatsoever. >> reporter: the photographer is thomas [ indiscernible ] the couple was supposed to have taken to take too long to pick the photos from the disk. we have a contract that says additional fees must be paid after one year. it's been two years now since these weddings. >> i don't have a signed copy. >> reporter: helen of lindenhurst is in the same boat. she admits the contract she received has fine print giving them a year to pick out the photos for an album. but she says two years ago, the photographer never explained it or seemed in a hurry. >>

cbs 2's hazel sanchez spoke with witnesses. she's live in jersey city with more. >> police are still here cleaning up what witnesses described as a crazy accident scene. a maroon minivan was speeding down ocean avenue behind me when it slammed in to that silver car you see being towed right now. that started a scary chain of events that left a dozen people hurt including a jersey city police officer who was struck by that silver car while standing on the sidewalk. >> reporter: witnesses say the driver of this maroon minivan was speeding on ocean avenue near myrtle avenue in jersey city when it hit this silver colored sedan and spun out of control. she witnessed the chaos from her front yard. >> flying down. he hit another car. that car hit another car. and that car hit another car. >> reporter: police say the man pushed the silver car in to the driveway. the car struck and critically injured a jersey city police officer who was standing on the sidewalk. the chain reaction accident sent car parts flying in all directions. at kin

the terrified woman spoke to cbs 2's hazel sanchez. she joins us live from bensonhurst with more. hazel. >> reporter: well, dick it takes a lot of courage to talk about such a violent experience which happened right here on this quiet street. but the victim tells us that she wanted to bring attention to her violent attacker in hopes of helping police catch him because she says the man threatened to come back and now she fears for her life. police are looking another long-haired man who they say attempted to rape a bensonhurst woman in front of her home. the victim's own surveillance camera captured video of the attacker chasing her up to the [ non-english language ] >> reporter: she is afraid, tells us. we're protecting her identity. attack happened around 2:30 a.m. on wednesday, august 5. the victim was walking home from her bakery job when the suspect jumped her on 19th avenue near 74th street and forcibly kissed her neck. she broke free ran home but couldn't unlock her front door. so the suspect ran after her terrorizing her with a threat to return. live in the west village, alice gainer hazel sanchez, cbs 2 news. >> reporter: in rockland county traffic on the new york state thruway is jammed. hours after a deadly crash. cars were backed up to tarrytown in westchester county. >> reporter: the new york closed. it's very, very difficult to get through that area. this summer friday has been aggravated by a dreadful accident 15 miles north. this morning, this is suffern new york this morning. a box truck carrying mattresses jumped the center divider and hit a tractor- of exit 15b. the two occupants of the northbound box truck are dead. the driver of the southbound tractor-trailer is hospitalized. serious but stable condition. and traffic as a result all afternoon has been really slammed on the thruway, i-87, route 17, route 202, the local roads in rockland county and it's just been really a mess. it's just starting to loosen up a little bit but it's still very difficult. the monitors say it's difficult in the immediate area. police are questioning two other vehicles involved in the crash. another truck headed northbound and a private veh

we're live in south nyack, rocklin county, hazel sanchez, cbs 2 news. >>> we also have some new information tonight about the family argument that police say ended in murder on long island. a grandmother is dead, allegedly at the hands of her own daughter, and today that daughter faced a judge. cbs 2's carolyn gusoff reports from mineola. >> reporter: dawning a hospital gown, saying nothing, suzan grossman-kerner headed to court where holding her head and rocking, the 56-year-old faced charges of killing her mother with a kitchen knife. >> an argument ensued over the daughter's ongoing medical conditions. the daughter enraged, ultimate ly stabbed her mother to death. >> reporter: grossman-kerner summoned police to the home of her mother, urma grossman, midday monday. inside court documents reveal police found her covered in blood, administering aid to her dying mother. with stab wounds to her back and neck, the elderly grossman told police her daughter did it. she said the two were fighting over the daughter's bipolar medication and she confess today the crime. >> if the accusations are tru
