live in the west village, alice gainer hazel sanchez, cbs 2 news. >> reporter: in rockland county traffic on the new york state thruway is jammed. hours after a deadly crash. cars were backed up to tarrytown in westchester county. >> reporter: the new york closed. it's very, very difficult to get through that area. this summer friday has been aggravated by a dreadful accident 15 miles north. this morning, this is suffern new york this morning. a box truck carrying mattresses jumped the center divider and hit a tractor- of exit 15b. the two occupants of the northbound box truck are dead. the driver of the southbound tractor-trailer is hospitalized. serious but stable condition. and traffic as a result all afternoon has been really slammed on the thruway, i-87, route 17, route 202, the local roads in rockland county and it's just been really a mess. it's just starting to loosen up a little bit but it's still very difficult. the monitors say it's difficult in the immediate area. police are questioning two other vehicles involved in the crash. another truck headed northbound and a private veh
