and i had mental health services. i needed it as a kid. but mental health is lacking. it has hit me in so many more than one way. i struggled with mental illness most of my life with severe depression. somewhere about six years ago, i was seeking treatment from my provider, and it wasn't helping. it wasn't enough. and she decided that i needed to be hospitalized, that i needed 24 hour care. i couldn't pull that off with my work schedule. the stigma around mental health. i'm a therapist myself, that blew my mind. it shouldn't have because i shouldn't have this stigma of myself but it did and it's really difficult to process that. so i have spent at this session convincing her i didn't need to be in the hospital. it worked and then she scheduled me for three weeks later for my next appointment after suggesting 24 hour care and that was the best she could do. i know from the bottom of her heart she wanted more, she told me she wanted more and as a clinician, i know you needed more but couldn't do it. i was lucky. not everyone makes it to that appointment after a crisis ti
