i'm heather holmes and i'm jana katsuyama. >> communities are struggling to address that crisis that has been fueled by cases involving the highly lethal drug, fentanyl. we will have more on that coming up. but first we're going to go to some developing news that's coming in right now in the north bay. >> yeah. the santa rosa fire department says eight people have been taken to the hospital after a crash along highway 12 at stony point road. westbound highway 12 is closed between stony point road and fulton road. it is unclear exactly what caused this accident, but as we take a look at these pictures, you can see this is a substantial accident. i mean, it's hardly it's difficult to even make out the vehicles involved. as you see here in the middle of the road, they're just charred remains of at least one vehicle. i also see a tow truck on the scene as well. it looks like they are working to try to clear this area, at least for the evening commute. again, right now we are hearing that several people at least maybe 12 people hospitalized following this crash in santa rosa. >> new at fo

heather. >> all right. thank you so much, krystal. appreciate it.ng on to other news tonight, the fbi is investigating suspected attempts to hack into emails of the trump campaign as well as the biden-harris campaign. the fbi confirmed today that it is investigating a report of a cyber attack, a former president trump's campaign. the campaign has claimed that iran is responsible. the trump campaign has offered no evidence, but it comes just days after microsoft issued a report warning of foreign agents attempting to interfere in the 2024 us presidential election. the washington post reports. the fbi is also investigating suspected hacking attempts from iran into advisors to the biden-harris campaign. iran has denied all allegations. >> minnesota governor tim walz is planning a fundraising trip right here to california. the democratic vice presidential nominee is launching his first solo fundraising trip this week, beginning with stops in los angeles and newport beach tomorrow, where he will meet with union members and host a fundraiser. the governor

heather, good to have you.an be just as eye-popping as going to the gas station. what's going on here and how do you advise them? >> man, it is so expensive, i just finished my kids 'has back-to-school shopping and i couldn't be the prices. they are much higher than they were in the past few years, but there are still some really incredible ways to save. so the first thing i like to say is before you go to the store, shot from what you already have in your house. chances are you have left over school supplies from last year. get them all out onto your table and just take inventory of what you already have. the second thing i like to say is if you can, either kids at home. from personal experience, i think it cost us at least 50% more if we take our kids shopping with us. they see all of the expensive -- >> neil: they see other thi things. >> yes, they want all of the fancy things so just leave them at home. secondly, you have to be willing to shop around a little bit. so the first place i like to go is staples.
