we saw families enjoying the weather and shaved ice at heather farms park at walnut creek. let's check in with chief meteorologist paul heggen what we can expect this week. >> the relief is not going to last long. we still have heat advisories in effect for most of the bay area through the end of the workweek. the convention to that is the immediate coastline and san francisco where temperatures aren't going to be that far above average because the onshore breeze is going to keep things air conditioned. today at least we did retreat to reasonably hot temperatures. on the high end of the spectrum, into the mid-80s around concord and livermore, not the extreme heat we had last week and over the weekend. temperatures were very close to average in san jose and santa rosa and will be within 5 degrees of normal tuesday, 60s and 70s around the bay, mostly 80s inland, the hottest spots around 90 degrees. the heat will rebuild beginning wednesday when the next heat advisory kicks in. temperatures will top out from 85 degrees bayside to 105 degrees plus farther inland. fortunately, t

so many people behind me at heather farm is there already swimming. this is the best time for you because as the minutes and the hours passed, not only will it be more uncomfortable, it can be downright dangerous. which is why this is your time to even walk your fur-baby later on. simply too dangerous, if not downright deadly. right now, we are going to have a hotter day than we did yesterday. so if yesterday was unbearable, it's even worse. today with record-breaking temperatures. get this yesterday. 5 bay area cities either matched or broke records from 20 years ago when it comes to the heat. so many people are scrambling around, including pg and e they have extra staff ready to go to pounce on power outages. we do know that some parts of the east bay, they lost power last night and they are still getting their power restored this morning. firefighters there also beefing up their staff levels not only to pounce on wildfires but also to pounce on any medical emergency. just a few moments ago, we got a chance to track down the berkeley fire department
