. >> hello again everyone i'm heather holmes. >> firefighters in contra costa county battled huge flames that destroyed a mobile home and threatened to spread to others. eric rasmussen is in pacheco. >> reporter: heather, just over this wall you can see how badly everything here was burned. firefighters got here quickly, but some worry if the response was any slower it could have spread to other homes and neighbors next door to actually feel the heat from this fire. within minutes flames engulfed this home in the sun valley mobile-home park in pacheco. firefighters got the call just after 11:00 a.m.. neighbors used whatever they could to try to help. >> that tree right there, if they hadn't watered that down, it would have come over and got my home. >> reporter: no one was inside at the time, but next door neighborhood penny kirby who says the woman who lived there with her son lost everything. >> he i went oh, my god, you know? she has been here, maybe ten years. she has lost her husband, you know and now her home. it's like oh, i feel so, so sorry for her. >> reporter: to give you an i

good evening i'm heather holmes. >> and i'm ken wayne. at least 11 people have been sent to the hospital following suspected carbon monoxide exposure. it happened in the bernal heights neighborhood. jade hernandez is live at the scene. >> reporter: we just heard from the battalion chief and told us many of those sent to the hospital have just been released. that's within the last few minutes. a gas representative is still checking all of the apartments in that duplex right behind me with the lights off. now the san francisco fire department says 11 people were transported to the hospital after the adults, there were eight adults, three children registered for high levels of carbon monoxide in their bloodstream. now a dispatcher received the call about 7:00 after hearing a carbon monoxide alarm sounding. >> basically we got a knock on the door from our neighbors and told us there was a carbon monoxide leak in the house. when we got out there was a fire truck and a lot of ambulances up and down the street. >> reporter: now some symptoms of

. >> i'm maureen naylor, heather holmes is off tonight. >> we'll get to that story in a minute, but first we have developing news from the peninsula where a fatal accident involving a pedestrian is causing major traffic problems near the san francisco international airport. these are live pictures right now from news chopper 2. the accident happened about 8:45 tonight, but as you see 101 there is pretty much a parking lot with those red brake lights. the accident happened at the:45, northbound highway 101 at south airport boulevard. now the highway patrol issued a severe traffic alert. however, they are not releasing much information at this point, but you can see that that back- up goes for a while and you can see the airport to the right. right now officers are diverting traffic onto 380. drivers are advised to use alternate points. if you are heading to san francisco, you will pretty much be diverted off. there is no estimated time at this point for any re-opening, but we'll continue to follow this and have more as it develops. >>> in other news tonight police arrested 42 people at a h
