kpix 5's julie watts was at london's heathrow airport this morning. shot this video a short time ago while waiting to take off. >> reporter: hi, guys. this is julie watts reporting video, um, from the plane on the tarmac at london heathrow. um, in light of the brussels attack i have been asked to talk about the mood what's going on. what i can tell you is of course, the brussels attack are the top story on the bbc and london news organizations top of mind for everyone throughout europe, i am sure. in terms of the impacts, however, to air travel outside of brussels, i have not seen a significant impact. folks on the plane don't seem to be affected. there didn't seem to be too much increase at least visible security at heathrow. however, we are told that there is definitely increased security here. of course it's very sophisticated and may not be something that's obvious to the naked eye. what we're hearing from british news sources is that the number of injured, um, and, um, fatal injuries is growing in the brussels attacks. there were several bombings

the training aspect, the negotiations on the ground at heathrow between the aircraft and authorities. just like at larnaca, we have the crew on the aircraft with a number of passengers still held by the hijacker and they will be negotiating as to a safe conclusion so the aspects of my incident was the negotiation that go on from the aircraft through to the authorities so that everybody is up to speed so to speak with the various procedures that were in place. i think the crew's issue here that we have obviously since 9/11 got a very much a lot sealed flight deck environment. one is still in communication with the cabin crew. the last thing you do is open the flight deck door in this case. you are going to take information from the cabin crew. it would suggest they felt this hijacker had some sort of device. nobody's been able to confirm that. one has to assume the worst. in this case, the flight crew did what they were required without hopefully allowing the hijacker into the flight deck to bring the aircraft into larnaca. then it becomes a negotiation issue with the total release of
