i want to thank chair heinicke in particular for trusting me. i have enjoyed getting to know the staff of the agency and hearing your concerns as well as hearing from stakeholders. and i will admit when we started this process in june of this year it seemed a daunting task. we heard from many this is the hardest job in the transportation industry. and we are very fortunate to hear from many stakeholders. we heard from over 750 individuals through this survey. we met with over 100 individuals. and i just wanted to take a moment to remind everybody of the themes we heard as a search committee again and again. people talked about wanting to have a leader who is decisive. someone who is a team builder and excellent manager who will unite the divisions of the sfmta into one cohesive team. someone will will stand up to political pressure and have staff to drive ambitious projects. someone who will take equity and inclusion seriously and not put up with harassment in the workforce. someone who embodies vision zero. if you read the fine print and see th
