and we're getting reports of rain in saint helena.aviest rain looks to be marin county southward. san rafael, 1.75. and lexington reservoir an inch and a half. and san francisco, 3/4. and sfo 2/3. and san jose, 4/10. and heavy rain just ended for now. guess what? it's on its way back. another cell is beginning to move in and one just moved across the dumbarton bridge. and san jose is taking a pretty good -- right there. down to gilroy and the santa cruz mountains. campbell to saratoga and back up to oakland, san francisco, and parts of berkeley and to the east bay. not as heavy but there are lines. mount diablo. and from blackhawk east they are lined up through thursday. and after that there might be a change the. 50s on most of the temps. once the rain ends another system is going to barrel in. it will be a mostly cloudy day. and windy at times. and this looks like a very rainy week with highs in the 50s the whole week. >> sal could do an hour show. >> and i have to keep up with the twitter feed and the facebook thing. >> you're tell

and saint helena had an inch. mill valley and napa -- oakland, 41/100ths.3/4 of an inch of rain. and right around highway 121 around lakeville highway and black point there's a good cell. and san ramon back to blackhawk and in between danville and walnut creek and stretching over to san leandro and san lorenzo. and that cell just went by. that's pretty intense and heading to san ramon. and union city, fremont, nearby, the rain is picking up in mendocino county, it's gone from quiet to starting to pick up. and in marin county you can see there's another cell heading north of marinwood. and antioch, oakley, brentwood highway. and mount diablo, the east bay, that's the main line. and stretching into the santa cruz mountains, highway 35 and also to highway 9 and right over highway 17. scott valley. and there are a few pockets where it's coming down pretty good and other areas nothing at all. the wind was roars last night and it's going to be a breezy, blustery day. we're getting gusts of 25 to 35 for some. maybe a possibility of afternoon buildups and most of t

helena, moderate to intense. and occidental, and santa rosa and petaluma and right over to glenn ellen. that's really looking like an intense line has formed. and northern they're. novato has had a third of an inch of rain. and emeryville and el cerrito. out to areas in the east bay, oak lie, brentwood, and highway 4 that may be one of the reasons there's issues there. the system is producing wet cement in the sierra. snow levels at 6000 feet. and a distinct line and enhancement is taking place. and look at -- right there -- this is on its way in the next 20 minutes to a half hour. and lining up from marin county and that's going to produce heavy rain. and 50s on the temps. another mild pattern and breezy to downright howling. 30 out to fairfield. so a windy, wet morning here. san jose has had gusts of 25 and same for mountain view. hunker down if you can. 30s in the mountains. a winter storm warning there. and urban and small stream flood advisories. and we have to keep an eye on the creeks. the system will get

up in pope valley, down through san helena, this is a little in napa county, as well. light to moderate showers. here's the view of the golden gate. these are some 24 hour rainfall totals. very impressive. nearly 4 inches, 3.2 inches at mt.tem. nearly an inch and a quarter here in san francisco. our storm impact scale, we've devised a numerical value to give you an indication of the level of intensity. and to help you prepare for the potential impact of each storm, our next storm which will arrive tomorrow morning ranks three on the storm impact scale, which is a strong storm which brings with it the possibility of some flooding. tomorrow afternoon and evening, heavy rains produce the possibility of some mud sliding and flooding. coastal flooding from tomorrow morning at 4:00 to tomorrow morning at 10:00. still rough surf, high surf advisory. i'll give you a detailed look in just a moment. >> and the rain came down very hard this morning in the south bay. this storm created problems all over the bay area. abc 7 news reporter matt keller with the story. >> you think you

helena with over 2 inches of rain.r an inch and a half. 1.25 easily in the san francisco area. dublin and mountain view with over an inch of rain and approaching one full inch of rain. mineta airport in san jose. here is the main energy now well draped over patterson. all of this activity will traverse out in an easterly direction. you will dry out in newman. that's farm count where we need the rain. meanwhile, i had a good question asked to me of sue soon taylor. she asked what does this mean for the tahoe area, it's snowing 4 to 8 inches of snow expected to lake level within the next 24 hours. it is currently 33 degrees in tahoe. here's the scene looking toward the bay bridge. again, mainly cloudy conditions. temperatures are in the 50s. the wind are under 5 miles an hour. we remain to see a coastal flood warning until 7:00. the combination of that high surf, some of these swells up to 17 feet. we could see some minor flooding along the coastal areas. heavy rain is out of here. we do see some sunny breaks in the hori

helena and napa. and oakland over to san leandro, hayward, concord, and also san ramon.ense rain around southern marin county. and that's moved off. and there are areas where it's really coming down. sunnyvale. and look at the moisture plume enhancing here. we'll continue with the heavy rainfall rates through the noon hour. and then it should start to decrease. not as bad to the north. but there are areas in lake county with moderate to heavy rain. 350s on the temps. mild air mass and we'll get urban and small flood advisory tickets. sal will have more on the highways and the creeks are beginning to rise quickly. temperatures upper 50s to low 60s and moderate to heavy rain for some. >>> i take it the screen is starting to light up a little bit. >> it is and just looking at the incident list here. on the commute and you see a lot of things going on. but the biggest thing i have to tell you is if you're driving too fast you're going to get in a spinout accident. just looking at the evidence i have in front of me. the east shore freeway traffic is not going to be too bad. 2

helena. the national weather service has issued a flash flood watch for the valley fire area. we could see some mudslides and debris flow. there are returns and also further south you see returns being picked up on our radar. but this is the main event. this will continue to slip to the south and east throughout the day. it will take throughout the bulk of the morning to sink south and it has a subtropical connection and is expected to pump a lot of moisture into the north bay. we look at the warnings in effect. we talked about the flash flood watch for the valley fire. how about ma rip, napa and sonoma. the high surf warning also continues. but the south bay, you will get the rain by the late afternoon and it continues into the evening hours and early morning hours. a mild start with southerly winds in the upper 50s. we have fog that's creating a problem around the east bay valleys. we will talk about the timing of the rain in a few minutes. carolyn. >> all right. as lisa is telling us, we are expecting one of the strongest storms we have seen this season. abc7 news reporter

and that just moved through napa and another through saint helena. and there's a decent cell skirting there heading to mount diablo. and back towards the southern part of the peninsula and into the santa cruz mountains. boulder crete, scotts valley. and lexington valley. south, southeast breeze will do it. and the newts are out and about enjoying a good soaking. i know somewhat some of you are thinking. newt was in the movie alien. we do have up in the north bay in lake bay and mendocino county, rain is picking up and also around san pablo bay heading to hercules and el sobrante. and there's another around sausalito. another one focusing on san mateo, burlingame, and millbrae. there's been a line that's hilt and miss. and it disappears and coming right back. and morgan hill to san martin and gilroy. and it's just hit and miss. looks like they are decreasing but the lines are not done yet. 50s on the temps. our wind was roars overnight. and gusts 40 miles per hour. the low is moving in to the north bay. and therein lies the possibility of thunderstorm
