you, one of your major stories in the weekend review or pieces is by helene cooper.w perspective. >> several weeks ago, a around the time the sotomayor hearings were approaching, i wanted somebody to write the story about a minority class. you went back to the wisemen so-called in the cold wear era, and then a group that came in with bill clinton's generation. we were looking at president obama and sonia sotomayor as people that came through and gained power in the age of the affirmative action. whether or not they were benefici beneficiaryairies of it. so we went to helene cooper, who is really a foreign policy expect, and she is from liberia. she wrote a brilliant memoir about it. this was not going to be a race story. in the middle of reporting the story, the gates story happens. that raised the paradox for people of color who are on the 100 the most predominant people. and that's the paradox of leadership if you come out of that particular background. she is reporting it from all sides. she talked to skip gates, who i have known for years, and is also looking in
