then my last tour to afghanistan we hit an ied outside of southern helmand province. i was later diagnosed with tbi and ptsd of course. i have been on various medications trying to get it al control. it was our kids and our wives and i didn't know if it was a good idea to be around the grand kids anymore. the issues i was having were so bad. and the whole family started to descent disintegrate. there wasn't anything left. >> what were the issues? >> not being able to remember and being very angry when things weren't the way i wanted it i mean, everything has to be exactly how i need it or i get very upset and then not remembering what she says and not remembering where i put things. >> i have tbi, ptsd due to repeat exposure due to ied blasts and detonations. i suffer from migraines, memory issues. insome i can't. >> ron and marianne are active duty meernsz. >> after my first deployment which was primarily infantry, i lost -- we lost a lot of guys out there to ieds and i knew that we -- i would be called to go back to combat during ieb i felt like every ied, every bom

prolonged fighting in helmand as the new government tries to take care of the security situation. it's a lot of challenges for the government ahead. >>> a million people, most young men, leave tajikistan to work in russia. they rely heavily on the money sent home. their absence is leaving many at a loss. >>> it's wedding season in tajikistan. celebrations is if full swing. this young man returned from russia to get married. once highs bride is settled -- his bride is settled, he plans to go back. community groups that work with the families of migrant workers warn of tough times. >> translation: migrant workers learn russia, go to the big cities. this is a big problem. particularly for those looking for the perfect partner. they have been trying to find a husband for three years. with 80% of tajiks, men, between the ages of 18 and 25, working in russia, mr rite is hard to find. >> all the good guys are working in russia. there are not many men, and the ones that are are not very well educated. and do not earn enough to raise a family. poverty and jobs try to leave the country. not

we saw in ghazni, but a similar one in jalalabad, and more traditional fighting in the south, in helmand province, that is going on for many months. we know the security forces took heavy casualties. those security forces will need nato help, past the end of the mission finishing at the end of this year. it will go on to a new mission called resolute support, where n.a.t.o. members train to assist the afghan security forces. the united states plans to keep 9,800 forces in the country through 2016. none of that can happen without a political deal, in addition to the security crisis. there's a political crisis. the two candidates for afghan presidents have not come to a political agreement, and the 8 million votes in the second round of presidential elections are being reviewed to figure out who won the election. a political stalemate, a security stalemate, and hope that a new afghan president would be at the n.a.t.o. summit. that has not happened. we are not sure when there'll be a president in afghanistan. >> thank you. reporting from kaboom. >> the al qaeda leader -- kabul. the al qaeda

in afghanistan i was in the helmand's province. i was shot in the face.onscious five minutes. after being shot i was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. a severe case, i had a hard time speaking for a while. very difficult for me to think what i was trying to say. i had to relearn how to walk pretty much. getting to drive for prince harry that was -- that was incredible. i thought i would be navigating for him. but he was kind enough to let me drive. i think he could see, kind of looked at my chops, when i looked at the land rover. he sure in enough, he let me drive and he navigated. and i mean, we did a great time. >> i thought one bit, that sort of catch leaves everybody else out. absolutely not. >> to sit next to him. watch him drive. see the grin from ear to ear. knowing what he has been through. a rough idea of what he has been through. that we have done the right thing basically. >> he was very spot on with his directions. i never missed a beat. just pin me the left and right. just point me left and right. just keep going. >> yes, yes. >>
