right now let's go to anjali hemphill near the baseball field as well and has talk to several people. anjali, what are you hearing? >> reporter: yeah, guys, we've been running around this del ray neighborhood speaking to several neighbors and people who not only witnessed this horrific and frightening incident this morning but they also ducked and took cover. some of them ran to their nearby homes. not knowing where the bullets were coming from. where the shooter was. quite a terrifying experience that they have described t this morning. you can see behind me here the street is block off. still plenty of police presence but many people were actual until nearby dog park when this shooting started. they heard the gunshots ring out. they say they immediately knew it was gunshots. they themselves hid behind cars. and i'll let them take it over from here and tell you more of what they witnessed. >> we was in my car. we was just leaving the gym and we heard a loud bang, and so it was a brief silence and then she look at me i look at her multiple gunshots and i hid behind my car. i just hid
