henry. thank you for that. overall, it was a pretty busy weekend for oakland police. yesterday, officers responded to an early morning carjacking in the area of 38th and allendale avenues. police say the suspect jumped into a vehicle and took off with a child who was seated inside. now, the suspect eventually abandoned the vehicle just about a mile away, with the child still in the car. paramedics did treat the child at the scene. anyone with information about this case is asked to contact oakland police. later in the same very morning, police responded to a shooting on 73rd avenue in garfield avenue. police say officers arrived at about 815 and found a person with gunshot wounds. paramedics responded, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. police have not said if they've made any arrests, and the city of oakland will not be closing any more fire stations. city officials say steps have taken so far have been effective in addressing oakland's dire budget deficit. therefore, the expected temporary closures or brownouts of four additional fire stations will not
