. >> crime reporter henry lee joins us. help are you police have made an arrest but still looking for more suspects of it that's right one person is in custody but looking for at least 4 other suspects. take a look at this video it shows the victim a 28-year-old san francisco man being dragged by a honda civic moments after he was robbed of an expensive camera at ocean beach. it happened in broad daylight october 5th at scenic spot popular with tourists there's plenty of people around. >> one of the suspects pushed the victim down while the other suspect grams of crack his camera. one subject jumped in the car while the victim was still holding on to the camera and actually dragged him in the street. >>reporter: victim suffered abrasions to his affirms watch what happens next one of the suspects chasing after that same car seems like the suspects inside forgot about one of their own. >> it looked like he wasn't able to get into the car immediately. >>reporter: that suspect managed to get back into car further down the hill.

henry lee was in court today. what was interesting here is that the former officer was ordered to appear. >> that's right. he was charged with a misdemeanor. ordinarily you can have your attorney appear on your behalf. today he had to come before a judge. retired oakland police sergeant johnson had no comment as he appeared in court accused of not reporting child abuse involving this woman. johnson had a facebook chat in september with the officer of an oakland dispatcher. according to the district attorney she told johnson she had sex with other oakland police officers and told him not to tell anyone. he agreed not to. the exchange was captured on a screen shot on the phone. investigators found another screen shot where johnson asked quote, tell me you were an adult. she responds i would be lying. attorney burris represents them. johnson could have put a stop to the abuse by coming forward. >> if he had reported early when it came to his attention we may not have this wide- spread police entanglement we have. the

henry lee joins us now. >> reporter: his name was takeshi watanabe. an employeeÃthe 54-year-old man tried to stop a theft in progress and paid with his life.>> flowers mark the spot where takeshi watanabe was run over and killed as he tried to stop a man from stilling pallets at a business. takeshi watanabe noticedÃthe suspect 27-year-old kadeem edwards could face a murder charge. using a ford pickup truck as a weapon. i spoke to watanabe's wife of 27 years. she's broke -- she broke into tears. watanabe who worked with the boy scouts was a very kind and thoughtful person. he always followed the boy scout oath. police say he was doing just that on monday morning. >> he stood up for what was right. he stood up to protect true world foods, even though as with -- was wooden pallets. tragically he lost his life yesterday.'s best -- >> reporter: oakland officers spotted the same pickup truck near a pallet recycling center in east oakland. that's when officers say the suspect jumped out of the truck but was found hiding underneath the car. >> two officers, t

henry lee is working to find out the case that the charges are connected to us. it is being turned over to the district attorney's office for review and prosecution. >>> there's a town hall meeting tonight to discuss last week's deadly police officer shooting in san francisco where a police officer was injured. the suspect later died from his injuries. mcwherter's family says he was a man who suffered from mental illness and had lost his way. he was acting erratically and shot at police when they confronted him. the officer is suffering paralysis on one side of his body. the town hall will be at 6:00 on 19th avenue. >>> still in the city, san francisco police tell ktvu they have identified four suspects in tuesday's school shooting that injured four students. investigators say they do expect to have all of the suspects in custody in the next few days. the shooting happened in the parking lot of june jordan high school. four teens were injured, including a 14-year-old girl who was shot in the hip. she is an honor student who has never been in any kind of trouble.

henry lee has more on the suspects who have been arrested. >> reporter: take a look at this video. from a frightening burglary in august on pilgrim loop in fremont. the suspects are crouching, ready to attack. luckily the victims weren't home at the time. watch it all unfold under surveillance system. ktvu has learned that these six mean, brown, fluker, woods and young have been charged in connection with this fremont case. some of them have also been charged with carjacking a man of his honda pilot last wednesday near danville. police chased the vehicle on highway 24 before calling off the pursuit. the carjacked honda was later found abandoned in oakland. the group has been charged in the livermore home invasion as well. >> i'm sure it is terrifying for the victims. we have put this as a high priority. we have been investigating these folks for quite some time. and thanks to the diligent work of the fbi safe streets task force, we have gotten dangerous people off the street. >> reporter: prosecutors say investigators are trying to determine if the same group is linked to the shoot

. >> our crime reporter henry lee has been working the story for us. the vallejo police chief expressing relief he did not lose two of his own. >> reporter: they are counting their blessings. on a coffee break when they were confronted by a man with an salt weapon hours after his 2-year-old son accidentally shot himself at a home. the surveillance video is chilling. the police say this is 41-year- old adam powell calmly walked into the front door on of the starbucks off of i-80. he is wearing body armor and has an assault rifle with a 70 round magazine. he pointed the gun at two officers at 8:45 sunday night. when he tried to fire the gun jammed. he tried to clear it while running away. >> a man with a riffel decided to am ambush us at the starbucks. >> the two officers chased him for a block and shot him three times when he allegedly, again, tried to clear his gun. he was carried a loaded handgun. he is in critical condition. the police say he drove passed the starbucks six minutes before the confrontation. >> we presume it was a premeditated ambush o
