that is almost under six years of governor henry mcmaster and eight years that he served as our state'sorney general. folks, our crime rate in south carolina is higher than new york city and that's all under governor mcmaster. the governor's catch and release program on violent offenders is clearly not working. every single person in this age should feel safe when they walk out the door and go to the church, or movie theater. right now, it is something to be concerned. there is a man james white who was arrested for attempted murder of a security guard and few days later he was released. by a judge you appointed, governor. and while he was out, he murdered a woman who was standing outside a bar. our crime rate is out of control and something has to be done about it. and our law enforcement need -- and needs support and they need more resources, and i want to do something about it. gov. mcmaster: some folks will say anything to get elected. joe said he never had an opportunity to vote on tim scott's bill because it was in the senate. and you did not vote for that one and voted for nancy

and local officials and spoke with florida governor ron desantis and south carolina governor henry mcmaster. fema administrator criswell is on the ground in florida today. since before the storm made landfall president biden had made clear it is a priority for the entire administration to get those impacted by the storm the help they need. one week ago the president issued an emergency declaration for florida which meant we could pre-position teams and resources like food, water and generators on the ground. yesterday the president did the same thing for south carolina in anticipation of the storm hitting their currently efforts are focused on saving lives with search and rescue as part of its unprecedented level of coordination with the florida national guard and local responders, teams started search and rescue missions before daylight and are continuing that efforttoday . by the end yesterday they had already saved hundreds of lives and completed thousands of structural assessments allowing people to safely return to their homes. those teams are continued continuing to assess damage and
