interstate 80. claudine wong joins us live from hercules now. claudine, just a moment ago, we saw some of the limbs coming down. they are busy at work. >> reporter: that's right. that-- the plan right now is to try to get this cleaned up as quickly as possible and i want to take you over here because i want to show you what they are doing. this tree is gonna be -- is actually held up by only a few branches. what they are trying to do is cut all of this down. you can see there's two or three here and then they are gonna let it drop down. presumably from the heavy rain, it just toppled over here and when it did that at 5:00 a.m. this morning, a couple of cars hit it. but fortunately, nobody was hurt. you can see this big pile of branches. they chopped out as much as they could, dumped it over the side and got traffic moving along highway 4. you can see there's still a bit of a backup coming off highway 4. they want -- they want to get these people here. and as the morning commute gets underway, it gets more backed up and slower. they have to slowl
