john joins us from justin herman plaza with the story. >> reporter: it has been a quiet thanksgiving. there are a number of san francisco police officers stationed around justin herman plaza as they have been for a while. the biggest surprise was a donation that provided holiday meals for the protesters here. occupy san francisco got helpings of turkey and ham. it was a last minute donation of $1,000 that made it happen. two people gave the money to the church with the understanding it would buy 400 meals for the occupy san francisco campers. >> so that's what the movement is about. equality and justice. those are core values of the movement and they're supporting it here, like many other religious institutions. they try to do what's right. >> we're one of the 99%. so we have to certainly help bring all this endeavor so that they would not have to suffer. >> reporter: throughout the day, occupy supporters dropped off smaller food donations like fruit and cup cakes. >> we believe in the movement. we believe in trying to make the world a more equitable place and we're wanting to share s

supervisor mar: if you could first answer the question around justin herman plaza and why this site wasot going to work there. then i would like to ask about 202 versus 203. >> justin herman plaza, it was logistically and more complicated project. there are alternative uses on that the farmers market uses it twice a week. we also felt that there were some safety issues associated with putting a playground that close to the muni turn around and the american dairy -- embarcadero roadway. lastly, from a design perspective, we thought that it might actually be a more expensive project. and then i think it is important to note that it is actually further away from a lot of the families that were responsible for organizing and desire in a playground. as it is now, there is not a playground with and at least a half a mile of many of the residential areas, residential units that are supporting the playground. during later hours in the day and on weekends, less eyes on the site perhaps. more green space, more trees, it was more desirable and a strong relocation logistically. supervisor mar: and

they did discuss remaining here at justin herman plaza and also occupying the mission district. refer moving to 1950 mission street, the city of san francisco was hoping occupy sf would sign this agreement requiring each protestors to follow a list of 17 demands which include no panhandling or loitering. tents need to be spaced appropriately, no animals or pets allowed, and inspectors from dph, and the fire department, must have been given access to examine and evaluate the site on a daily basis, including inside the tents. the occupiers say they refuse to sign it. >> it's a personal opinion, i don't think -- i understand defending justin herman plaza, and i understand the mission site could be a good thing for occupy. and i don't think those things are mutually exclusive. upon that's a personal opinion. >> it is consistently under mining us. when they're offering us alternative, it is simply a trap. threatening to raid us if we don't come through. >> reporter: protestors tell me they decided not to sign the city agreement due to safety and environmental concerns at the mission

unnecessary force will be used against occupy san francisco protesters to move them out of justin herman plaza. that was the result of a resolution passed by the san francisco board of supervisors. city officials and protest organizers say they are willing to continue talking and working together. >> as long as progress continues to be made we are going to work together to find something to find a situation that is going to be beneficial to both sides. >> we are trying to get them to respect other people's use of that property. they are making progress. one of the example is they were occupying the bocchi courts this weekend they moved out of that. >> mayor lee revealed the cost of city work crews cleaning justin herman plaza will be funded privately. >>> no shirts, no service. dining out in the buff is being banned in san francisco. the board of supervisors has unanimously passed a proposal to keep naked people out of restaurants. nudists who want to sit on public seating will first have to put down a towel or something. supervisor weiner introduced the protest al. he said the in-- proposal.
