stone-the coast guard is out in full force this weekend patroling the water.kron 4's hermela aregawi spoke to officials - and joins us live. hermela, what did those with the coast say? (hermela aregawi)this is something the coast guard does every year.. this time of year. they have additional staff patroling the waters to make sure that everyone that chooses to celebrate the 4th on a boat.. does it safely.the big thing they tell me is making sure that people are not driving boats under the influence.the legal blood alcohol level when oeprating a boat is actually the same as when driving a vehicle.so if you get stopped by the coast guard.. and you're blowing over .08 .. that is a crime.so something to keep in mind.also making sure you have a life jacket for everyone on board.. and making sure that the jackets are somewhere where they're easily accessible. those are some of the obvious measurse.. but the coast guard gave us some more that you might not think to do. lets take a listen.make sure you've got radios vhf radios. even if you're operating a small craft, there are handheld vhf r
