aaron hernandez was the former tight end. he was fired and his $40 million contract ended hours after he was led out of his home in handcuffs in june of 2013. today, he was cuffed again and it was dramatic. his tattooed hands both of them shackled in front of him, set off against his slate gray suit. he was convicted of first-degree murder for the death of odin lloyd. he's the one that's going to be now serving life in prison. that was the mandatory sentence that the judge gave him without the possibility of parole. >> you are charged with the crime of murder. the jury returning a verdict of murder in the first degree. in consideration of the crime for which you now stand committed you are sentenced by order of the court as follows. you are committed to the nci cedar junction for the term of your natural life without the possibility of parole. vrcr 2013-0983-b, where you were charged with the crime of unlawful possession of a firearm, after the jury finding you guilty and the court in consideration of the crime for which you

two years went to high school with aaron hernandez, have known aaron hernandez for years. they now have been divided by this murder case. and so interesting thing to kind of pay attention to is will the younger sister take the stand? will she get on the stand in that courtroom and talk about odin lloyd and talk about how this has impacted her. she's estranged from her older sister that got on the stand. the older sister, shayanna jenkins is facing a count of perjury, a felony charge for lying allegedly 26 times to the grand jury so this case is far from over for the jenkins family. i suspect you will see the girlfriend of odin lloyd who has been in that courtroom for most of these proceedings taking the stand along with odin lloyd's mother when they get a chance to give witness impact statements on behalf of their loved ones, guys. >> they'll get that chance any minute right now. you're watching the emotion in the courtroom after the verdict was read. that's aaron hernandez's mother and fiance. this is odin lloyd's mother right here. so you can see just how close these two

this is aaron hernandez shackled. this concrete -- through this concrete wall with all this wiring and into this prison. that's the first glimpse we've had of him going into maximum security prison. if you're talking about aaron hernandez being able to be out and about with general population he won't be isolated? >> no, not really. and this place is just a reception center for the state of massachusetts. they kind of send everybody here. yes, it's maximum security. but they've got another place called suza boronski which is also another maximum security institution. he may eventually end up there. the department of corrections, they are the sole deciding factor of where you spend your time. it's not the jury or the judge. he may end up anywhere in the massachusetts system that has high security maximum inmates. >> do you think the guards -- >> is it dangerous, yes? >> do you think the guards will treat him differently and will he have visitors? will his fiancee be able to spend time with him? >> because he's in maxim

so anyway, what was hernandez's reaction to the verdict? >> the former patriots tightened showed almost no emotion as the verdict was read except for a moment he appears to send a message directly to the jury mouthing these words. you're wrong. >> in all fairness he thought he heard not guilty. ease's just correcting them. the only reason i can think of because this guy i think he definitely did it. i mean he's got a pretty crazy track record. while he was a freshman at the university of florida hernandez broke a bouncer's eardrum over a disputed bar tab in a fight and was also a person of interest in the shooting of two men. but no charges were filed because, well you know university of florida. (laughter) hey, though you've got to respect hernandez he went to college to pursue and perfect his two craft football and murdering people. (laughter) give him credit. you got to give him credit. (applause) that's all i'm saying. so really it should come as no surprise that during the odin lloyd investigation investigators turned up even more murd

it shows hernandez carrying a gun a few minutes after the murder. although the weapon was never recovered, the gun maker testified it was similar to the model used to kill the victim. joining me dan shore former prosecutor. great to have the both of you here. there is a lot of surveillance video circumstantial evidence that was used in this case first degree murder convicted. i want to go to another piece. we saw in that surveillance video in his own home that showed him carrying what looked to be a gun. in this piece of video, his fiancee is shown hauling a large black trash bag with the outline of a box inside the day after the murder. she testified under oath that he asked her, hernandez asked her to get rid of this. >> right. he told her to get rid of evidence from the home. her testimony was that he never told her what was in the box and she never looked in the box. she covered it up so security camera couldn't tell the details of the box. obviously, the prosecution theory is it was the gun she was getting rid of. defense implied it might have
