joining us to talk about the market though first, the spoke investment group founder paul hickey withs charles schwab's multiasset strategy manager joins us. welcome. first you to, mike, on what we saw today. a little bit af coof a comebackm tech and how that sets us up and what was the driver behind it? >> you know, it looked like pretty much just a bounce in a strong uptrend for big tech. if your concern is the leadership of market dominated by large cap secretary ullr growth stocks had broken stride in major way and therefore the rest of the market was going to struggle you pretty much didn't have anything to work with today. you did see a little bit of a bounce in the names. overall, s&p 500 remains within this kind of trading range you still have kind of a selective market i mean, we talk about, sara, you mentioned the s&p 500 is 5% away from the all time high 40% of the stocks are down at least 20%. so what that tells you is it's not the overall market whistling past the graveyard and ignore what is going on in the economy and ramping stock prices what it is telling you is the m

i want to speak to paul hickey.s tough on china, there is a trade war and the tough rhetoric. ford just mentioned on the other hand you heard biden say calming, more conciliatory things about china. do you think their market is rallying on the idea there could be a president biden? >> well i mean i think if you look, biden came out with some pretty harsh comments towards china yesterday but it is all a matter of actions versus words and you know, you look over the last eight years he was vice president, the tone toward china was a lot more conciliatory like you were saying, charles. i would say, i wouldn't say this is all a function, rally in chinese equities but it hasn't just been the last eight days. it has been about, been going on for a month now where we've seen as trump poll numbers gone down and biden's therefore gone up the chinese equity market has been doing better. that boosted emerging markets. china has 41% weight in emerging markets index. so i think that is definitely a factor at play here. charles:
