here at highlands mobile home park, we had no reports of any serious injuries, and everyone is safe,ryone is accounted for. the national weather service in jackson started to issue the tornado warn ings around 5:30 local time monday evening, around ironically, the national weather service office is only five miles from here, and so they with were issuing the warnings for everybody up the street, and everybody heeded the warn warnings. the problem with april is the best chance of the long track tornadoes, and tornadoes that stay on the ground for a long period of time, and this particular tornado, the one that caused so much damage to the neighborhood here, it really caused this damage to a large part of the jackson metro area, including here in pearl, and brandon and richland, mississippi, where one woman was killed in a car where her car was picked up and traveled to a different location. we are seeing the scene, and the heartbreaking images. here in pearl, we are not under the major threat like yesterday, but it is humid out here, and once the clouds start to break, and we start to

i am here in highlands mobile home park. it's just about five miles away from jackson airport, which is where the national weather service for jackson is located. ironically they were the ones issuing the warnings around 5:30 last night local time for this particular storm. now, you can sift through all the rubble here and you are certainly going to see people coming back and trying to pick up the pieces of what was their home, what was this entire neighborhood. but we spoke with the mayor of pearl, and he said that they came through here, all the buildings have been cleared and all of the people that lived here heeded the warnings issued by the national weather service. he said if you go through some of the homes that weren't completely flipped on end, you can still see dinner on the stove. so people got the warnings and got out of town. amazingly enough there were no reported major serious injuries here. about three people had some minor injuries, some cuts and bruises, some scrapes, but really that's about it. but there's
