this is why hilary came to california. because those two were in just the right place to create a little bit of an alley right here to pull up what happened to be there at the same time, and there just happened to be a decaying hurricane there. that's how it came on shore inland and up into the deserts and why it's so unusual. now, tomorrow, that low has one more trick up its sleeve. it will take what's left of hilary here going into the deserts, there's the big swath of moisture now. as it moves north, you can still see a little bit of a counterclockwise spin out here. sure enough, by tomorrow morning, that pulls some of the left overs from hilary and draws it back to the bay. so luckily for us, by the time it gets here it's just left over showers. a little humidity in the air tomorrow. and yeah, we could get a stray thunderstorm in that scenario. but the atmosphere is so moist right now with a decent amount of rain, there's not a high concern for dry lightning or lightning sparked fires. but a rare isolated thunderstorm

that's the remnants of eugene feeding on the remnants of hilary. the showers and storms will quiet down tonight. we'll see fog begin the day tomorrow, should back up to the coast as we head towards midday, fewer showers and thunderstorms. even in the mountains in the sierra, we won't see as much activity tuesday afternoon. temperatures warm up a little tomorrow, a lot wednesday, kind of a one-day spike in temperatures, almost 100 degrees in concord on wednesday, but we back down to near average temperatures by friday, a gradual warm-up through the weekend into next week, but no extreme heat in sight, even with the 99-degree high temperature wednesday. here's the re news. that mugginess you feel will gradually decrease. we should be into the not bad category on the muggy meter by tomorrow evening and dropping down to comfortable by the middle of the week. at least we don't have to deal with the heat and humidity, but never rule anything out. seems this year with the tropical system hitting california. the low cloud cover is keeping our readings cool
