hilary kramer joins us with tonight's "street critique." another management crisis at hewlett packard. there's speculation today that hewlett packard is preparing to oust c.e.o. leo apotheker after less than a year on the job. h.p. shares rose almost 7% to $23.96, but they are still down more than 40% this year. darren gersh takes a look at what's wrong with this legendary computer company and who could be the next c.e.o. to turn things around. >> reporter: today h.p. ran its own operation twist, leaving ceo leo apotheker twisting in the wind while wall street celebrated news reports he will soon be fired. h.p did nothing to knock that speculation down, refusing to comment today. in less than a year on the job, analysts say apotheker made too many big moves and executed them poorly. the goal was to cook up a new h.p., one focused less on consumers and more on serving big businesses. >> so to make that omelet, he broke a couple of eggs, which is fine, but the way he went about it was more akin to throwing the whole basket on the floor. >> re

hilary kramer is back with us-- editor of gamechangerstocks.com. must be talking about j. m. smucker here. the food company, an unusual ticker symbol, sjm. where is the growth here for smucker's? >> the coffee industry. their sector, they have 40% of the in-store coffee market and it very profitable, marriage ins above 20% continue to grow. and the follow jer's brand, dunkin' donuts, and that really helps smucker's be in a different position from other packaged goods companies. and of course also commodity prices are coming down. so that helps the growth and the fattening of what we call the imagine ins for a company like smucker's. >> tom: in the meantime you do collect that nice dividend, certainly nice relative with what fixed incomes pay these days of. >> i'll take 6.2% any time it comes in, it has been around almost 100 years, but also a category killer in that seven major brands across different categories in the supermarket, and all the right price. the consumer, also know, tom, is pressed right now. bad as it ever been, and a company like smucker's can really star be

it's hilary kramer, editor of gamechangerstocks.com. we could add vaseline and lipton tea. how defensive is this stock, considering the global economic environment here? >> this unilever company is ex streamly a great buy to have during a recession, because of their stable of brand, especially their more moderately priced like suave shampoo, dove soap, lipton. but it's also something else, a company that was able to grow sales by 7.1% through volume growth and parsing on prices along, and also is excellent at marketing, tom. that has, for example, ben and jerry's ice cream as one brand, but also owns slim fast. so i really love unilever for that. >> tom: both sectors with slim fast and ben and jerry's. also it a foreign company and that leads to a question from viewer brad who writes, i enjoy hill rather's suggestions on international stocks with high dividends, but i fine it difficult to find out dividend withholding taxes from certain countries before investing. you've been talking about international telecommunications stocks, for instance that have a hefty dividend. how

she's hilary kramer, editor of gamechangerstocks.com. so, you're looking at an exchange, the cme group specifically, this is a company that operates the exchanges where oil, gold, government bond, over en corn futures are traded. what makes you live cme group at this point in its stock price, trading at $267 per share? >> tom, the cme group has been hit hard whether the market coming off in august, yes it very ironic because the way the kme group makes its money is on volumes. volumes of these contracts in these areas that you just mentioned which are all growth areas, right, metal, platinum, silver, gold, energy has been very strong, and it's very important to realize that we've had a lot more treasury issueance. all those positions need to be hedged, that's the interest rate area for cme. it's a great story, earnings will be out of the park. i don't own it yet, i am planning on building a position in cme, maybe even on the call option side, i have such great expectations. >> tom: using leverage yourself. the big question with cme is ho
