heat advisory today for the interior hills and valleys. tomorrow the heat eases area wide.like today's heat. and then into next week the fog returns, a cooler pattern develops, and we'll all feel better. here's a look at our future cast taking us into the late night hours. we'll see the fog coming back to the coast and pushing locally across the bay. there'll be lots of patchy drizzle offshore tonight during the overnight hours and even into the early morning hours, but we'll have a mainly sunny day tomorrow once the coastal fog burns back. overnight lows will be generally in the mid to upper 50s, so pretty mild after a very hot day . you would expect that on the coast though a little bit cooler with overnight lows around 50 degrees. highs tomorrow right around 60 on the coast, 64 here in san francisco. mid to upper 70s. generally around the bay shoreline. but some locations will top out around 80 or 82. and again still pretty warm in our inland areas tomorrow with highs in the low to mid 90s in most inland communities. as we skip ahead to monday, you can see there will be

it's out of the west southwest at 17 around livermore and over the hills.e're seeing gusts 20 to 30mph. that's what's pushing that fire off to the south and east. but this time of day, near the warmest time of the day, those peak winds to which typically arrive around mid afternoon to early evening, those two combining with those very dry hills to show you now that we're in june, grass fires can be pretty common around the bay area this time of year. now closer to the inner bay, we've got low 60s in oakland as the sea breeze takes hold higher humidity levels, bayside and comfortably cool closer to san francisco. you can see the air quality tomorrow. moderate around the coast, in bay and into san jose. generally though, nothing too bad yet, but those air quality levels might start to suffer as the heat sets up midweek. pollen counts. those continue to come down as we transition to the warmer and drier time of the year, and there's a look at the wind speed right there. that's pretty close to where that fire is burning. getting pushed off to the east southeast

firefighters remain in the communications hill neighborhood, attacking hotspots after this hill went up in flames around 530. we dispatch a tier two, which is approximately 40 firefighting personnel to the scene. crews were able to get it under control. well, at least they had the forward progress stopped in about 2 to 3 hours. some people living nearby noticed the flames immediately. others got calls from loved ones. i was sitting at work and my girlfriend sent me a camera view from the communications center up there on the hill, and you could see this big plume of smoke. i was a little concerned because i was trying to figure out from the camera where the fire was, but when he got home, firefighters had quickly stopped forward progress. san jose fire says about 30 acres burned. we weren't actively protecting structures, but we were definitely attempting to keep it in the vegetation and nowhere else. yeah, and firefighters were attacking this fire on different sides of the hill. the cause of the fire is still under investigation in san jose. i'm jocelyn moran, nbc, bay area news. jo
