. >> good evening, president hirsch, vice president tailor, commissioners and director hawkins or actingirector hawkins. this week's chiefs report will start with the crime trends for this week starting with over all part one crimes. we were down 14%. our total violent crimes are down 17%. specifically as it relates to homicides, we're at 12 for the year, actually, as i was walking in the door we just got our 13th compared to 14 this time last year. so we're still down. i don't have all the details of the one that just happened a few minutes ago. there was one homicide last week. one suspicious death two weeks ago that was also ruled a homicide. i'll go into more detail on friday's homicide in the city. looking at gun violence, which is the number people injured in a shooting incident, we're down 25% over 2018. total property crime we're down 14%. and this includes burglary, motor vehicle theft, larceny and arsons. we continue to have fewer reported incidents in all categories compared to this type last year. we are -- except for motor vehicles we're 2% higher this year to date this time
