thanks, simon hobbs. we're keeping a very close eye on the dow getting closer and closer to 14,000.oves higher we're also watching oil prices move higher. we just hit a new intraday high of 9773 hovering just under that level right now. wti hitting more than a four-month high. strong manufacturing data out of the u.s. yesterday, strong housing data. a slew of good earnings reports. all supportive of crude at this point. meantime i also want to look at nat gas because we have seen a sell off there. the sixth straight day of selling. it's ahead of today's february contract expiration. gas prices roughly down about 10% this week and that is because these higher temperatures are coming in to play. let's also switch gears and look at gold prices as well. they are higher but not really breaking out of the range at this point. we're seeing buying on dips but traders are cautious ahead of the meeting today. also looking at the rest of the metals complex higher as well. rbc capital notes there is some bullishness in the market but again waiting before it breaks out. back over to you. >> than

welcome back, simon hobbs. a check on energy and commodities.ction to that. let me tell you first what is happening in the metals market. we are seeing some technical selling here in gold and silver with gold below a key technical level, below 1675 an ounce and silver below $32 an ounce . some folks pointed to what is happening in washington for the pullback. but more traders say more technical selling below the key levels that they're watching. we're also looking at copper prices that are only positive metal here, positive in metal territory after that flash pmi data. continuing to watch to see if copper has more gains. but as you mentioned, it is oil that is definitely the story here of the last few minutes. and that is after the inventory report from the department of energy and the big surprise there, what traders are most focused on, is the fact that we saw a withdraw of supply from kushing, oklahoma, we saw an overall build in crude supplies, but withdraw supplies from kushing, oklahoma. this has happened as the sea way pipeline has been e

. >>> simon hobbs is out on assignment today.omorrow. >> we look forward to that. breaking news for you now. imf in with their outlook. hampton? >> good morning, david. let's get right to those headlines. updated outlook from the imf. it saying among other things it looks at global growth projecting to increase in 2013, but at a more gradual pace than the previous projection back in october of 2012. policy action in the u.s. and europe have lowered the acute crisis risk, but the recovery is going to be protracted and delayed. it notes japan did slide into a recession, but the stimulus measures there are expected to boost growth near term. modest growth expected in some emerging market economies, others still struggling with a lack of external demand and domestic bottle necks, overall the imf saying if the crisis risks do not materialize and financial conditions continue to improve, global growth could be stronger than projected. however, the significant downside risks remain, the setbacks in europe, and excessive near fiscal cons
