we're going to let our correspondent get to say see listeners see if we could check in with hoda abdel-hamid snow she is in key points east jerusalem. you are hearing the situation. is kicking off quite a bit it's getting very violent in this general strike. just walk us through what's happening where you are. well at the moment it is quiet but over the past hour or so this place here behind me just in front of the damascus gate was quite tense now it all started when a group of protesters came and basically stood on the upper steps of this sort of semicircle at this point there was someone an israeli policeman in a megaphone telling the protesters to leave this area but within i would say less than 5 minutes we should the police really move in through stun grenades and for a while they were they were sure of a lot of cale's the protesters were trying to cover to get some sort of safe place really and the israeli police was trying to push them as far as possible from this area we also had some water here being sprayed some people who were injured now we do have reports that maybe some rubber
