event planner sandy hoffman joins us to tell us how it turned out. was it a success? >> i think it's something you have to ask the guests, but as far as i was concerned, it was fabulous. >> we have some before and after ctures. show us what you did to transform this house and make this party happen. >> that is the side entrance, which is the garages, and we wanted to bring everybody to the backyard first. so we -- we put mulch down and created a phway and just decorated that so it wld take the focus off the side of the house and the garages. at night when people came, it looked completely different. it was about 36 becauses of mulch. >> what about the party ace? >> so what they did then, we had cocktails in a tent in the back of the house. i hope you have a picture of that. we put a clear tent over the -- that space, and that was the space before. that is the plain patio and space. that's what we created. we put a clear tent up. all we did was cut anches down from some trees that were on the property, and attach those to the poles and the ceiling. i'm not sure you can

time for the national forecast from mike hoffman. >>> well the jet stream this week showing big changes over what we have seen. a huge ridge out west that will hold the coming week and a big trough to start the week. it is a big trough nonetheless. it's chilly up across the northern states. if it will cut off in the middle of the country of the southeastern portions of the country and there it is. and had you cut it off from the main jet stream which is now tearing across the northern states that will sit there for a while ask computer models have a tough time for this. this may be with you for several days and on up to the ohio valley and once it starts to connect back to the overall jet stream we will see it take off to the northeast again and we may connect it with a big trough by the end of the the week. that is up in the air. it may still stay cut off that means a wet situation for the southeast and fairly wet especially toward the end of the week all the way up into new england. out west not many changes there. warm and hot in that area with a big ring overhead. here is the temper

i'm mike hoffman, the drought monitor has improved for the northwest portions of the great lakes. still dry in that area as far as long term drought is concerned. starting to see some pockets in the western plains and we continue to see a bad area in northern portions of louisiana and parts of arkansas and that is starting to go to the ohio river valley and the southern portions of georgia and southeast alabama continues to be pretty dry along the eastern seaboard especially the mid-atlantic although that's typical. jet stream to monday, there's very chilly to cold air across much of canada and hot and humid in the southern parts of this country. as long the jet stream remains zonal like it will be we won't see any big intrusion of cold air into this country. we'll have cool air masses coming southward in the northern states but all in all that does not look that cold. there are signs that maybe down the road we will see the jet stream dip in the plains in the northeast, more than a week away though before that would probably happen according to the models right now. let's go day
