hoffman didn't address either of those.iggest point is this the governor of california, gavin newsom, has asked the parole board to do a review to determine if the menendez brothers are a risk if they are let out. so the parole board has the case. if there was a resentencing hearing, the only thing that would happen is the judge. best case scenario for the menendez brothers would say, well, i'll make it life in prison, but i'll eliminate the without the possibility of parole. well, then it goes to the parole board, and the parole board makes a decision and then sends it on to the governor. the thing is, it's already at the parole board now because newsom did that. so this whole resentencing is utterly irrelevant now. so why hochman came out with a 50 minute news conference saying he's going to oppose it or withdraw it and everything else. it's all irrelevant now because the parole board has the case. it doesn't matter what the judge does. the parole board has it. and ultimately, newsom is going to have to make the decision.
