alex hogan, fox news. pfizer booster shots are being offered at five vaccination sites in santa clara county. people over 65 those in long term care in those over 50 with underlying medical conditions can get a fighter booster as long as they had their second shot at least six months ago. santa clara county health officials say they are urging those who qualify to take advantage. what we know is that the immunity or our bodies protection? um uh, it does begin to decrease over time. and so if you're at particular risk of getting really sick from covid you want to get that booster shot to boost your immunity back up to a higher level. the hours for appointments vary by location. you can look up information and sign up for booster appointments at scc free backs dot org. the shots are available at the mountain view community center emmanuel baptist church in san jose. the santa clara county fairgrounds, also in san jose and san martin vaccination site in san martin. drop ins are being accepted at the depaul he

alex hogan fox news. in just a few minutes, the oakland unified school district will hold its second online vaccine information meeting. the session is meant to get parents more comfortable with getting their children vaccinated. the meeting will be in english while last night was in spanish. organizers say the discussion isn't to address the district mandate but to answer any questions that parents or students may have about the vaccine in general. the point of it is to really address misinformation. um and so, you know, ultimately, it would be great if folks are able to land on getting the vaccination. tonight's meeting will be over. zoom starting at 5 30, just about 25 minutes from now. the district is set to hold another meeting next month on its vaccine mandate for students workers. rights groups held a virtual news briefing today to call on the legislature and the governor to extend supplemental paid sick leave for covid-19. they say many workers in california will only have access to three paid sic
