that is the hallway of the meloni funeral home in holbrooke, long island.amily photos of gabby petito and the composite of her with angel wings. these are family, friends, relatives, members of the general public who the family is allowing to attend this service, a chance for all those who loved gabby and strangers who didn't even know her but only know her through the media reports to share their grief and feelings about gabby, what happened to the service that will continue throughout the rest of the afternoon for several hours. we're waiting for that to get underway. as the intense manhunt for her fiance brian laundrie is continuing in that florida swamp. it was a week ago, one week, laundrie's family lawyer said they hadn't seen brian for three days. that he left the car at the wilderness site. it is a site filled with alligators and snakes. there is no proof he is even there. charles watson is live in florida with the latest on the intense manhunt. reporter: eric, the question on some peoples minds where is brian laundrie. includes famous reality tv st

alison kosik, cnn, holbrooke, new york. >>> there are still so many unanswered question here is in florida to the doorstep of the laundrie family home, pick up something and put it away in a paper back, much like we saw them do with evidence during their second search warrant, and that has been the most activity on this street. not far from here is the carlton reserve. and the laundrie parents told investigators that their son brian was going there, and that was the last time they heard or saw of him since last tuesday. and there was supposed to be resumed effort at that reserve to try to find him. 25,000 acres, swampy, with alligators and makes. that was supposed to happen throughout the weekend here in florida. over in new york, on sunday, a memorial service for gabby petito. her friends and family and really people who don't even know her lined up long before the memorial started to pay their final respects. it was even live-streamed. we heard from gabby petito's mother for the first time in almost two weeks. she posted on facebook saying as i scroll through all the posts mix, heart is

cnn's alison kosik joins us from holbrook, new york, where petito's service is under way.family. just awful. >> reporter: yeah, a real somber day here, jim. you know, the outpouring that we've seen here all day was pretty amazing. it really speaks to how much 22-year-old gabby petito's story has resonated not just in this community of holbrook and long island but across the country and around the world. the memorial is ending in about a half hour, but doors opened around noon today eastern time, and there literally has been a steady stream of people all day. a line that you see there, that line has pretty much been there, short and long. at one point it wrapped around the entire building. people waiting more than an hour to get in because only 30 people were allowed to get in at one time. a lot of these people didn't even know gabby personally but they felt compelled to come here and pay their respects. earlier today when the family and extended family were president, gabby's stepfather and father joseph each gave their own eulogies. listen to part of what joseph said. >>
