. >> joining me now to talk more about the lack of diverse theit the nominations is holland reed. for being with us. jada pinkett smith says they won't be attending the oscars. spike lee and his wife sayt÷7 t won't be going either. why do you think this problem of lack of diversity persists in the oscar nominations and will a boycott make any difference? >> when you have -- thanks for having me on. when you have a group or a membership committee that is only made up of one specific demographic, we're talking over 75% of all -- mostly white males over the age of 60, that's a problem when it comes to relatability, i think, and also choosing projects that really represent a diverse group, not just ethnicity but sexuality. gender as well. the group has been all white actors two years in a row. that says something about the representation of other groups behind closed doors. i think boycotting the awards is just the start. >> and it's interesting. that problem has been recognized by the academy president. she put out a statement late monday, and i'll just quote this directly. i am both

otis holland told the jury he didn't do anything wrong, claiming he was just talking to his church members about difficult subjects. reed cowan joins us now with how holland answered questions. >> reporter: he was emotional, every bit in command on the stage as he usually is in front of his congregation. he said he didn't rape anything, the proceedings had to be stopped for several minute because his mouth got him in trouble with the judge. a warning, some of the volunteer you're going to see has graphic language. otis holland shocking many when he stood to defend himself against allegations of rape. the prosecution using this by holland. wednesday he tried explaining that sermon, he says parents asked him to talk about sex. >> there were a number of parents that said, no, pastor, i want my daughter here. >> reporter: prosecutors say the video out ofs an insight into a different side of holland. he denied the allegations under oath. holland at times was angry and directed that anger toward special prosecutor robert langinformation. >> everything is set up, trickery, can't say this, can't say that. >> reporter: the judge

[ inaudible ] >> i give you full permission. >> reporter: after jurors were excused for the day, another witness was heard by the judge. this witness will say she sought out holland for marital counseling but he took it to the next level. >> i told him to stop. reed: the local past on facing charges in henderson. five new victims have come forward since his conviction in las vegas last week. otis holland was found guilty last week of 17 counts stemming from the sexual assault of minors. actually stepped forward accusing the former pastor of those very same crimes. holland was given a copy of the complaint today and when asked if he understood the charges this is what he had to say. holland is facing 25 years to life in the first case and is sentenced to be sentenced in march. for the second set of charges hol rabd will be back in court next month. >>> a big announcement from nv energy to give those who have installed solar panels, those energy panels on your, how a break on the rate. went into affect and they were approved by the nevada public utilities commission last year. nv energy's move comes as the commission was about to take up the plan to grandfather in previous solar customers. the move would let existing customers stay on the more favorable rate structure for as long as 20 years. still a nevada political action committee filed a petition today to go back to the old rates an
