good morning, annie. >> hey, maureen, holly. we're told that d.c.ce just cleared the scene not too long ago and actually man to review multiple cameras to figure out what happened. meanwhile let's look at video from last fwhiingt all this happened. police say the shooting happened just before 6:30 last night. this happened bellview neighborhood right by the balanced eagle remember center in southwest. police say they got a call about a car that crashed at the end ever juliet street followed by a call that the driver a woman was armed with a gun. now according to police chief peter newsham she was alone in the the officers that arrived at the scene made contact with the woman and ended up shooting her. however circumstances surrounding shooting remawnz unclear this morning. we spoke to a lot of neig neighbors. they told "fox5" none say a woman or gun. some heard the shots. chief newsham is not giving us details but letting us know they're not sure what led up to the shooting and nrs this woman made any threats to neighborhoods or police. take a liste

holly harris is the executive director of the u.s. justice action network joining us this morning to talk about the torney general's change of opinion, change of direction on sentencing guidelines in the united states. back us up a little bit. as in the obama administration what was eric holder's approach and the president's approach to sentencing? to federal sentencing demrines >> the previous attorney general had issued a directive to his staff not to charge at the highest levels. so in other words not to invoke a lat of these mandatory minimum sentences that we know have helped explode the the prison population and has not given the safety return that we deserve. very recently the new attorney general who has long been an opponent re versed that directive and is now directing his staff and u.s. attorneys and prosecutors around the country to charge at the highest levels including at mandatory minimum sentencing levels. obviously my organization feels that's going in the wrong direction because states around the country that have sc

holly is a cancer survivor. she lives in southeast missouri. she was forced again this year to switch insurance policies when the insurance company she'd had left the individual exchange, the obamacare exchange. that left holly with only one choice -- like, again, people in the vast majority of our counties have the same option: they have one option. holly had one option, and that carrier didn't cover any of her four cancer doctors. now, remember, mr. president, this is a cancer survivor in literal -- and literally have been in the fight for her life. and now she can't get a policy that allows her to see the doctors that in that fight for her life she developed confidence in. so that means that she can't see her oncologist under any policy she can get. she can't see the radiation oncologist, the surgical oncologist, the reconstructive surgeon. none of those people are now available to her, and this is in a world, mr. president, where, remember, holly and you and me and everybody else was told, if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.
