amy hollyfield is live in orinda with the details. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, kumasi. the city council did not make a decision but it does look like the city council will be in favor of a temporary ban of air bn bs bnb short-term rentals until they come up with an ordinance. last night there was a moment of silence for the five victims killed in that shooting then they got to work on discussing what to do about short-term rentals like airbnb. it was standing room only. they had about 50 people speak, and the public speaking lasted for about three hours. >> it's terrible to be in a neighborhood where this is going on and people are not responding properly. the reality is we're overreacting to something that is an exception rather than the rule. >> the situation is not safe. it's not why we moved to orinda. one of the reasons was safety. >>> the shootings that happened halloween night in orinda took place at a party in a home rented on airbnb. five people were shot to death, no arrests have been made. the city council will vote in two weeks on this emergency ordinance, b

amy hollyfield is live in orinda this morning. >> this city is still without answers about that violentbut the atf announced some developments. they're still aggressively working this case. first, let me show you some pictures that the atf just tweeted out. this is their crime gun enforcement team that carried out arrests. they also linked a gun used in the ornd shoinda shooting to ot shootings in the bay area. there's also a reward, $20,000 leading to arrests or convictions in the case. they had arrested five men last week but they were released when the district attorney's office said there wasn't enough evidence. the sheriff's office says they are confident in their case and says those responsible for the five deaths on halloween night in orinda will be held accountable. now they are getting a boost from the atf with this raid, this gun connection they discovered and the reward. multiple agencies coming together to try and solve this case. >>> reporting live in orinda, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >>> the man accused of stabbing and killing mia millson is set to be back in court for a

amy hollyfield is live with the latest. >> good morning.we have some of the radio conversation that happened between dispatchers and vallejo police officers right after the shooting happened. >> units en route, there's going to be a gunshot victim in front of j.j.'s. he's saying he is a pd officer. unknown from where. >> we need the parking lot locked down. cars stay and people stay for now. >> yeah. an officer from the richmond police officer got the call just before 5:30 yesterday afternoon. that off-duty police officer with the richmond police department, they say he did stay at the scene. investigators say he shot and killed someone at the gas station on fairgrounds drive in vallejo. the person who was shot died at the scene. they have not said why this happened, why the officer shot him. they have not said anything about an arrest or what happened to the officer. the vallejo police department is investigating along with the solano district attorney's office. they have not released the name or anything about the person who was shot. the

amy hollyfield is live at the santa treat jail in dublin where that suspect is being >> that's right. he is here at santa rita jail. we're learning more about the man killed in the attack. he is being called a good samaritan which his relatives say does not surprise them at all. relatives say 49-year-old tyrone hodges was known for standing up for what is right. he was trying to stop a shoeless man from trying to steal shoes from a sleeping passenger on b.a.r.t. when he was killed. the two got into a fight. police say hodges pulled out his own knife and it was taken away from him and used to kill him. his family describes him as a loving father who always tried to help people. >> he got killed in the process of trying to help somebody, but i'm not shocked he tried to help him. that sounds just like him. >> reporter: police say the man accused in the killing, 39-year-old jermaine brim, he was taken to the san leandro hospital earlier this week and walked out of the hospital about 12 hours before the attack. police say when they checked his background, he was listed as a missing person
