we've put some kind of maybe some things that you would recognize, say, like the hollywood sign, dodger stadium, the rose bowl, stadium things. so it kind of gives you some perspective on where these fires are located. now, the palisades fire specifically, this one has really grown in size. so has the eaton fire in the last 24 hours. this red color here shows you the spread of where that fire has really been kind of focused on in the last 24 hours. we've really started to see more of it begin to spread, even up along the coast, just in the last 12 hours. and keep in mind, this is still a little bit old. this map is likely to continue to update, but the key thing here is look at all of these structures, homes, businesses, and all of those roads that are there. that is what these fires are going after. and that's what's making it so difficult, especially for some of these people. they don't know which way to go. where's a safe place to exit? when we look at the wind forecast notice, even as we go through the afternoon, you still have some of these places that are looking at 30, 40, even 50 mile per hour wind gu

hollywood sign is. dodger stadium a little bit down here, the rose bowl stadium. just to kind of put that in perspective. now the palisades fire specifically, we've been able to kind of map out where the fire has actually burned through this particular area. so all of this red shaded area, that's where the fire has spread through these particular regions. and the one thing to note is look at all of the structures here. you're talking buildings, businesses, homes that it's kind of crossed over, even some pretty decent roads. but notice it also comes right up to the water. you know, places that you don't traditionally think of, of where you would see these fires, especially just raging up to the point of making it to the water. and it's thanks to that wind. it's been so strong for so long now, 24 hours in some of these areas have had winds at least of 40 to 50mph and sometimes gusting stronger. as we go through the rest of the afternoon, we're finally going to start to see them coming back down below 60mph, then below 50, below 40 and below 30, especially as we get

hollywood sign would be. the griffith observatory, dodger stadium down through here, pasadena, the rose bowl stadium. now when we talk about the palisades fire, specifically, we do actually have a map to show you this is the the area that has been burned already. it's the red area you see here. keep in mind this is several hours old, so it's likely expanded beyond what you are seeing here. but this just kind of goes to give you the scope of what has burned and what it's near, because this is the this is the downtown area of the city of pacific palisades. you see all of these structures here, homes, businesses, parks, all of this, not to mention the roadways that are so dangerously close to where these fires are. and again, keep in mind, i said this is several hours old. so this is likely spread into some of these communities since then, before we finally get that updated map. one of the biggest concerns, especially in the short term, is truly going to be the winds. you are still talking some of these areas 50 to 70mph. some of these have peaked at 70 to 100mph. now dana, these numbers are going to dr
