but in homeland security and really in cyber security, the federal government is just a co-equal partnerh the private sector and with our state and local and tribal and territorial colleagues. it's really all about partnership which i love. and you know, every day i probably spend 60 to 70% or more of every day meeting with partners, either in industry or at the state and local level, which, again, is incredibly fun because you're right, it's all about building partnerships, relationships, and trust. so, it's a fantastic job. you know, it's hard to think 100 days that sounds like it's been a while, but every day has been fantastic. and so, you know, i see a couple things that i'm focused on over the, whatever, three years, whatever it is, maybe four buckets i'll give you. the first is really leading the transformation of cisa, as we know it's the newest agency founded by my good friend chris krebs, and it went through a pandemic, a contentious election cycle and a whole bunch of things that happened this year that were really pretty intense work. so the transformation piece of this is no

i was in the bush administration as head of the dea, and after 9/11 i went over to homeland security as undersecretary, and in all of those positions, i sought out bipartisan solutions, and i worked with those across the aisle to accomplish good things for my constituents and for americans to accomplish our responsibility. that's really important as governor and part of the governor's association to find common solutions, ones we can agree upon and work together to accomplish. that's why i love the nga and am honored to be chairman through this year. the nga, of course, started under president teddy roosevelt. he was a former governor and he had an initiative that was important to him, which is conservation. so he brought the governors together in 1908 to see if the governors can support each other in a bipartisan way. here at the nga, there are different initiatives following a great example for over 100 years. governor phil murphy is my vice chair. we rotate. i'm a republican. he'll be coming in as a democrat whenever i leave my term as chair. it's a delight to work with him all ac
