we know that we need to work to serve our homeless population better and homelessness is an not experienced the same with everyone. we have people in the city with extremely long stretches of homelessness and if not for extraordinary efforts they will stay there until they die or we get our act together and serve them together. and we are focused on opening additional navigation center sites with a strong focus on housing exits and initially we had hoped for very quick exits, but we realize really what we needed to do is focus on some populations that were failed by our system as a whole, and that meant more difficult cases, a little longer time frame but it's been successful like that. this was all made possible by a $3 million donation that came in from the san francisco interfaith council and the council has been an integral partner to the response of homework since the 89 earthquake and their moral commitment and leadership around homelessness has been instrumental in the city's response and great to have as a partner here. partners on site. community services is the lead contractor. ne

this is my first time being homeless and from the experience it will be my last because this helped me but i am glad i was homeless because it showed a different side of me i didn't know, the strengths and dpoles goals and think it helped me a lot. sorry. it had so many opportunities. they constantly post jobs or injrj you to do. you can only do so much. hamilton can only do so much if you dont want to do for yourself. me, i'm taking a stand and doing for myself so i won't be here and hopefully i will be a chef so i can cook for the shelter or homeless program. i will give back to the community as much as i can, i voluntary also. i don't have much to say, i thank god and the thank the people that donate and make this place possible because i see the ups and very grateful and thank you. >> [applause] >> thank you precious and thank you for everything you are doing to improve your life and also take care of the children that you have. as i said for this particular bond, i want to make sure you know if i can simplify it it is 3 words, it about access to good care, it is about emergency re

living a homeless child or the recommendation is living a homeless child under the age of 18. it is issue for the committee to find candidates who are currently homeless with their homeless child, not to find but to keep them because if you a homeless and trying to care for a child it is very difficult to be going on all the shelter inspections we do each month and it is difficult to attend the committee meeting and any subcommittee meetings, so we would like to recommend that this be changed to somebody who has lived with a homeless child under the age of 18 at some point within the candidates life time. we believe it will make it easier to keep someone in this position. it is currently unfilled on the committee. and the third recommendation is that the terms of each committee officer, they are two years, but we ask that they be staggered so half rupointed on a even year and half are appointed on a odd year so we can have consistency in the committee with experience. thank you, if you have any questions- >> thank you. and so just in terms of the 3 recommendations sound good t

this is my first time being homeless and from the experience it will be my last because this helped me but i am glad i was homeless because it showed a different side of me i didn't know, the strengths and dpoles goals and think it helped me a lot. sorry. it had so many opportunities. they constantly post jobs or injrj you to do. you can only do so much. hamilton can only do so much if you dont want to do for yourself. me, i'm taking a stand and doing for myself so i won't be here and hopefully i will be a chef so i can cook for the shelter or homeless program. i will give back to the community as much as i can, i voluntary also. i don't have much to say, i thank god and the thank the people that donate and make this place possible because i see the ups and very grateful and thank you. >> [applause] >> thank you precious and thank you for everything you are doing to improve your life and also take care of the children that you have. as i said for this particular bond, i want to make sure you know if i can simplify it it is 3 words, it about access to good care, it is about emergency re
