honda: thank you. the minimum wage, i thought for here in san jose, and we want to make sure $7.25 is not a salary that you can raise a family with. and so 63% of the voters, we one. president obama's said they're taking the federal minimum wage and is increasing it through executive order to $10.10. i see these posters on billboards now and it's a fact, it is going to $10.10 but that doesn't answer the terrible burden of financing your education, higher education. so we have to find ways to allow students to be able to get larger pell grants, be able to get financial aid and lower interest rate, and like i suggested, center for -- senator warren has a bill out on the house side to make sure interest rates that will be charged to students will be the same as the federal reserve bank coming from the $600 billion quantitative easing money. the other thing is we should be able, for kids, for loans, the students who go into public service. my wife had a larger loan. she went into teaching and she taught in

. >> congressman honda, next question for you. you served the people in this area for decades in various capacities. some people do fear that you might be burnt out. how do you address the concerns and to those people? >> i'm not burnt out. and i've got a lot of gas in this tank. and so i'm not even a hybrid. and i think that the kinds of energy that i use to -- comes from a very deep seeded desire to make sure that this country does the right thing. i mentioned that in 42 our government had gone awry, had made mistakes. and i don't want to see that happen again to any group. and it has been one of my desires to make sure that youngsters get the voice that they need, and as a teacher i want to be able to do that, to teach youngsters to speak up, to be critical consumers of goods by thinking straight and thinking critically, be able to get a powerful education so they can choose their options in the future. i don't say to youngsters, get education for a job. get an education so you have greater options in your career and your life.

and meaning, how many people were taken out of the laguna honda? >> so it is two groups, it is the people who are in the community who are at a risk of being institutionalized and so they are actually like a nursing home level of need, and we try to keep them in the community. >> and a lot of those folks are already, they already have services and case managers, but they seem to have risen to a point where they need that extra help and then the other group are people who are in institutions and who probably are still or could stay in institutions and they have that level of need. but we bring them out into the community and give them that. and the services. >> actually wh, we get to the 6 month report, we have got, i think more information in there about numbers of people, and class, but, and >> yeah, and there is, and there is a program, and the program over the last, it is from 2006, more to 2007, and so we have got like 7 years or so. and it serves to 2600, just over 2600 people. >> okay. >> and in total. >> right. >> individuals. >> and thank y

and which is primarily, laguna honda hospital as a major place of referrals. and then, of course, tender loin and the haze valley areas as well. and actually 32 percent of our referrals are coming out of laguna honda hospital and in terms of service requests, the highest request, are for case management and inhome support, and housing, always, remains in the top. and there was a time, when we had greater dollars, and then in the dimension when they had access to because money had been set aside in the health department for this program to access the housing particularly for the people leaving the hospital and there was a more fluid operation in terms of housing, but again we don't have any more, mental health and substance abuse and assisted living devices are also high on the request level. the total amount of the program expenditures of $2.8 million, which has been the norm now for some time, and you will see that something that i am very, interested in, and i am very pleased about, is that the average cost per person is 557 dollars a month and i think that
