important stocks for the economy have the best charts you can find so let's start with caterpillar and honeywell. these are flawless charts. the fundamentals, fine, i got it but the buyers are coming in and accumulating on the way up there's almost no volatility here the airlines look much better. look at southwest airlines, luv, the best chart in the group. so when i reference charts rather than fundamentals, it is because fundamentals aren't changing minute to minute but stock prices are, and they are a reflection of where investors feel good about what they're hearing on the fundamentals. so i will just cut to the chase. i look at a new height for transports, up 1.2%. fedex looks outstanding and then they came in and bought the banks. so you had this blow-off top moments in rates and it scared everybody out of the banks, but it was a very buyable pull back and the buyers, in fact, came in all of that is going on while they're trying to double bottom the arc stocks so the arc etf and all of the related stocks were actually red this morning they're up more than 1% today, and they're doing that

so all-time highs today out of the cyclical space, general motors, whirlpool, caterpillar, deer, honeywell, jacobs engineering, parker hannafin, home depot and lowes i have multi-year highs. there's a lot of names from a lot of cross sectors in the cyclical space, steve. is it time to look at the gains and do what ricky sandler is doing and look to take some profits and chips off the table or not >> i believe that you definitely have to start looking at it. you look at caterpillar which is telling at 20 times forward earnings, that's if they get there. i think that's expensive look, if powell is right we have transitory inflation, then that's not good for caterpillar. so i think those are way too valued now, gm from a different story, it is still a cheap stock, and i believe you are seeing a rerating of the auto stocks. i own gm, i own porsche. i think those continue to go so some of them have just moved too much i was looking at commodity prices, freeport mac more an, not far off on an all-time high or at least a multi-year high. copper is up about 13%, stock is up about 30% year-to-date.

there was companies like general electric, motorola, honeywell. profits clause or the procurement contract went away from being cost plus which simply could have costs coming back to nasa that were really inflated towards fixed price contracts with incentives for continual innovation and quality improvement. so that build back better agenda which we all talk about has to go to the design of the public/private relationship today. those partnerships need to be symbiotic. >> sam stein....
