as we honor rosa parks's 100th birthday, we have the honor of having with us to start this whole celebration off doctor jeanne theoharis, who asked that question of rosa parks. what was behind her? but was behind the no heard around the world? those simple two letters that opened the floodgates of all those divergent streams into that one vast ocean. at the time, that no carried with a great risk. risk in terms of gender, and race. the question is what is behind that? what makes one take those kinds of stance? what is the price paid for having done so? doctor theoharis asked some of those questions and she writes it in her new book the rebellious life of rosa parks. jeanne theoharis was born in staten island, spent about six weeks there and promptly moved till milwaukee, wisconsin, where she was raised. oh she held the first chair of women's studies and is a professor of political science at brooklyn college. she is also the cofounder of educators for civil liberties. she is the author of numerous books on the civil rights movement and the contemporary politics of race in the united states,

>> no, your honor. so it hasn't resulted in arizona. how many states and elections does it need to affect before they can take cognizance in its own state? >> what the court said is when a legislature takes a prophylactic approach, the court should be particularly diligent in scrutinizing the law. >> i'm just asking how many elections would be enough and the secretary's view? it doesn't have to have been in arizona. how many does it have to happen, how many elections? >> arizona already has a law prohibiting the valid collection. what this does is criminalizes neighbors helping neighbors deliver ballots with up to two years in jail. >> i guess i'm just asking a pretty simple question. you agree some prophylactics are allowed and this addresses a prophylactic issue that other states found to be problematic and the commission found to be problematic. how much more evident, how concretely would you require? >> what i'm saying is arizona already has a law. >> i'm asking how much more would you require befor

. >> good morning your honor. the state has filed a motion requesting individual witnesses who were minors at the time of the incident be exempt from audio and video recording in this manner. there are privacy concerns with respect to those who were children at the time. those have expressed concern. also with concern to a/v stated that the minors who would testify would be exempt from the video portion of the coverage unless there was consent prior but the testimony would still be covered by audio. it still remains for many witnesses this is a very, very public trial. a lot of online coverage even those have taken the stand have had many hits with their names and views so there are additional concerns we have with respect to these children. four of the witnesses were children at the time of the incident. two of them are still minors. but those individuals these are children who did not choose to be a part of this case. they are individuals going about their day and happened to see iron man die before their eyes.

and finally, you asked about honor. last spring, our young men and women were in a remote learning environment and some were challenged in terms of home life at home and a variety of issues which i can go into more detail later if you would like. they are away from their coaches, their touches -- and the structures that provide the way ahead. and for my perspective, these young men and women have only been here a semester and there is no excuse for violating united states army academy cohen and i have all the tools i need to hold them accountable for that and we will. the ones that remain here, we will develop them leaders of character and they will learn from this experience. thank you madam. >> general, but about drug use at west point? >> ma'am, i haven't seen -- we have some small instances. it's not raging right now, if i can use that word. there are the normal kinds of challenges that any commander faces. this is not something that's a very high currently raging at west point in terms of -- >> have you expelled an
