>> rick horgan is-- i've never asked him, but i would say-- boy, i hope he's not watching, because if i guess wrong, he's going to not give me a contract for a second book. i would say he's probably in his early 40's. >> is he a liberal? >> i don't know. i've never asked him. >> did he ever argue with you about what goes in this book, the content of it? >> no, not in terms of philosophy, only in terms of, you know, "you said this someplace else," or, "i think i can help you say this a little better." he's the best editor i've ever had. he was wonderful. a really good editor won't do that. it's just like the editor of my newspaper column. i don't know if she is a liberal, moderate, or conservative. all i know is she's very good. >> and how long did it take you to write this? >> well, it took me a little over a year, actually. unfortunately, i don't have the luxury of david halberstam or some of these others to be, you know, pulitzer-prize winning and have all the support behind me to go off for a year, two, or five years and write a book with a large advance. so i had to do it at the s
