it takes a village to rebuild a hospital.and it has been an honor, i know for my colleague supervisor marr and i to be chinese supervisors working with our first chinese mayor. working with our chinese hospital of board of trustees, with the chinese chamber, with our chinese family associations, with our chinese non-profit sector and our friends from throughout the world to rebuild this hospital. and then healthcare. i want to mention for a second, that i come from a family of healthcare folks. my grandfather sold chinese herbs my brother is a physician, my brother is an actupuncturist. my mother says that becoming a politician i was a failure because i was supposed to be a doctor. you who are caring for the sick, you are doing the lord's work, for some, you are doing budah's work. i want to thank you for all that all of you have done to take care of the community well-being, of our healthcare and insuring not that we are rebuilding the hospital over 100 years, but we are building a hospital that is hopefully going to last an

so the hospitals were able to use the patients, actually the medical staff from their area hospitals to provide the number of patients that went to each hospital and that provided each hospital's own casualty scenario. again you see some of these pictures here, the military preparing these civilian patients for transfer. we even went as far as evacuating patients to maui the busses down there are the state of hawaii's bus evacuation system which are also used in evacuation. so this convenient tue, this vignette of hadr disaster exercise for hawaii also allowed us the opportunity for testing technology for that information sharing and interoperatability. apm was an online collaboration where we were able to share information and learn how to communicate with each other. one of the things that we realized is we have a problem with interchange of information where we actually are able to share that. and that was one opportunity that we were able to do that. quick net also participated with us, allowed us to be able to have civil social interaction with the military and have us be able t

were aboard the macon island, one of the things i was fascinated with as were the attendees was the hospital space. there were a bunch of tours that took place there. last year the idea, it wasn't my idea and i wish i could claim it but i can't, the idea to do a medical peer to peer exchange between the military and the hospital providers here in town. so it was arranged where practitioners and executives, so practitioners and their bosses, to could come out and see the shock trauma platoon and see the capabilities of the shark and see what the military brings to the table in terms of medical. it was a huge hit, to be perfectly honest. it was well received. the medical community here in town was very impressed, really wanted to see more of it, and this year we grew that a little bit. it took flight, literally. it started with looking at rather than be a show and tell, like most things with fleet week, it started with, let's make it more than an air show. then it led to let's get on the ground and do hands on with our middle managers. the same thing is happening in the medical exchange progra
