we have looked at red control, the amount of affordable housing, senior housing, and veterans' housing that we have in stock, i think we need to see the data. every time i think of the 555 washington, $15 million of affordable housing, and the project was killed for whatever the reasons were. i guess the key the general public has to understand is we do more than anybody else in the bay area, and i think pressure needs to be pushed by our state legislators and the assembly saying, hey, we take our fair share, none of the other bay area counties have homeless shelters. we take them. i think the key is we need to let the public know and the bay area know, when are you going to pick up the slack we have taken up? i know for a fact we have more affordable housing units in san francisco that i think the whole bay area combined. you look at marin, they don't have a lot of density or affordable housing. you go to san mateo county, you don't find

i have been working on the policy and objective piece of the housing aliment -- housing element. i am here to give you a quick status update on where we are since the last time we were before you and how we hope to go through the process after the e.i.r. hearing. we start the planning process for the 2009 housing element in the fall of 2008. we had a three-pronged approach. we had a community advisory body which included 15 committee members -- 15 community members. we had about 10 meetings with them. we had stakeholder sessions with special interest groups and a round table, followed by 30 city-wide workshops, helping different communities go through the different parts of the project. following this extensive outreach, we released the first draft of the 2009 housing element update. we also held a hearing here on parts 1 and 2. during that time, after we released the document, or received a number of comments from community advisory body, yourself, and other members of the public. based on those comments, we made a revision and released a second draft of the 2009 housing element

it's an old cable car house. guy who lived there in the early 1960's, he had a boyfriend named cliff. they paint it yellow. when he got a new boyfriend named dennis, they painted it red to get rid of cliff. but it was a beautiful little car. he still remembers it. it disappeared, we think, sometimes in the 1970's. but this is what keeps my hopes up. this actually isn't in carville. this is in the richmond district on ninth avenue. people say, are there any car houses left? are they all gone? have they disappeared? this is an example of how one can surprise you. this is on ninth avenue in the parking lot behind the old coliseum theater. before that park being lot was there the city was looking for houses, spaces, near merchant corridors to create these little parking lots. they bought this house from a mrs. suggs because they wanted to tear it down and put the parking lot in. when they started tearing the house gown, they realized that this kind of boring house was made up of three old cable car trailers. even tho
