, low-income housing, and middle class housing is basically a housing issue, per se. i talked with a member of the german parliament the other day. i was asked to have lunch with them and helping the planning department bridge the gap for time they didn't have. and this gentleman told me that housing is a basic constitutional right. that is not quite the case here, and he tried to talk to me and i was a little bit chill about what we are doing with low-income evictions, what we are doing with ellis act housing, and what we are doing with middle-income housing. for example, leaving a unit empty for more than three months in their definition is an intent of change of use. and it's a very kind of heavy weighted decision because that allows, in their environment, people to basically be fined and be fined to the extent that people are really serious trying to stay away from having empty units. if we have a housing shortage for all lower and middle-income housing, then i think we need to start a serious look at the large amount of vacancy that we have in the area of 35 or 4

the white house nowadays, they are doing fewer than one white house press briefing a week. the press in a critical environment, where there's an opportunity to ask questions fewer and fewer times. a week and a half ago, when the president was overseas and jim acosta at cnn tried to ask him a question, the white house called that disrespectful, pulled a guest -- another guest from cnn's programming. this is a pattern of the white house always trying to restrict things. just yesterday, kaitlan collins reported that the white house is stopping the alongstalong-stand bipartisan practice of releasing public statements, telling the world when a president speaks with a foreign leader. this white house is pulling back access. they don't like critical coverage, they don't like critical questions, and this is another example of that. >> and as i said earlier, bill shine, the white house, they need to apologize to kaitlan and the white house correspondents' association for treating her the way they did. somebody spent seven years as a white house correspondent, fully appreciate -- >>
