i'm howard kurtz and this is media buzz. it seemed as first that the media narrative this week was all about barack obama and the pundits have been piling on, especially after he called into al sharpton's radio show and said this about all the candidates would don't want to be in the same zip code as him. >> these are all folks who -- with me, they have supported my agenda in congress. this isn't about my feelings being hurt. >> i will tell you this. it is all about his feelings being hurt because i think in the end, the approximately really can't get his head wrapped around the fact that he is over. >> one of the most interesting, most sought after rock star, a political rock star on the planet. now he has to hide under his desk until november. this is a total humiliation from him. >> we've got so many different candidates, democrats who are giving, at best, wishy washy answers as it pertains to their relationship with president obama. >> so is the press reflecting realtor making these elections about the president? joining

fox news media reporter howard kurtz criticizing some of the ebola coverage. mr. curetsz joins us now. see him sunday 11:00 a.m. on media buzz. what is your beef, howard? >> my beef is with the breathless, relentless, overheated coverage with too many head lines using the word panic when it's our business that is helping to spread the panic. live video of the car carrying of the nurse to the airport before she is flown to nih and whole media ritual. i know you feel strongly of this, bill, calling for thomas frieden's scalp at cd that's because uncomplicated stories we need to create a pin yalt that and that person get booted. it's symbolism. does not solve the problem. >> do you not believe that performance, especially in life and death situations is imperative? do you not believe that? i do believe it's very important and he has don't a mediocre job. >> getting rid of the guy. in a life/death situation you don't need a mediocre person in charge, howard. you know it, i know it, and everybody watching knows it. >> we went through the v.a. scandal and secret service

howard kurtz, thank you, washington d.c.ews for the second nurse to be infected we with ebola after treating patient thomas duncan. amber vinson, whose face became known to everybody across this country, it's a very happy day for her. she's going to be released from the hospital. she's expected to make a statement later this afternoon. we expect to hear from her around 1:00 eastern. the doctors have declared her ebola-free. she was put into isolation on october 14th of after flying to ohio and back with a low grade fever. she said at the time that the cdc said the fever she had was acceptable and that she could fly with that. you know, really remarkable success so far with these people, and that is a real credit to the health professionals who have taken care of them. and thank goodness she's all right. she's going to be heading home. bill: so hillary clinton now backtracking, um, from controversial comments claiming businesses are not the ones that create jobs. what she is saying now, and will that stumble hurt her chances

howard kurtz looks at a couple of examples. >> the ad by democratic state senator wendy davis against opponent greg abbott. >> a tree fell on greg abbott, and got millions. abbott argued that a woman whose leg was amputated was not disabled because she had an artificial limb. >> after a falling tree crushed his spine, what the ad fails to mention, is that abbott a state attorney general argued that people who interviewed the woman with a prosthetic regular r leg said they didn't know that she was an amputee. abbott's legal philosophy can -- the former judge ruled against a woman raped by a vacuum cleaner salesman, abbott saying that the company wasn't liable because the salesman worked for an independent distributor. >> michelle nunn's own plan said she funded organizations linked to terrorists. >> but nunn's document was about anticipating attacks on her tenure run by the foundation of lights. and ebay approved charity with no proven links to terrorism. can the ads wind up -- these ads clearly back fired. >> still ahead, michigan's tight governor's race over local issues gets nationa

howard kurtz and host of media buzz joining us. howard, did the media do it? >> well, largely yes. if it had not been for the "washington post" and then the washington examiner, reporting these stunning details of security lapses whether it was the fence jumper getting all the way to the east room or the convicted felon with a gun getting on an elevator with the president, pierson would still be the head of the secret service. but more than that, this drumbeat every single story, should she go, should she resign. president who does not like to fire people had to conclude the only way to change the subject was to get rid of julia pierson. >> it's really i would say chutzpah for her to blame the media when in fact secret service basically lied to us, the government that first said, well, the guy got to the front door. then, no, he got into the portico. then, no, the east room. then, no he actually was trying to get the group room before he was tackled. and then it turns out he was tackled by somebody off duty.up was tackled. and then it turns out he was tackled by somebody off duty.

joining me now, howard kurtz who is the host of media buzz here on fox and the speech writer, a "washingtonn american enterprise institute fellow. so her claims she has gotten specific about how she believed the administration has targeted her before. but her new book sounds like it's got more specifics than we ever heard before including the suggestion that documents were planted. do you believe it? >> it's an incredibly chilling narrative, megyn. the accumulation of detail about how these two computers, home computer and the office computer, files were accessed, files were deleted, the plants of the classified documents, as you said, a fiber-optic line mysteriously appears being installed in her virginia home. i certainly believe that somebody was out to get her. i cannot prove and she did not explicitly claim it is the administration but makes you wonder about press freedom in this country. really kind of a spy thriller. >> she says she was told by the experts that this had to be somebody who knew what they were doing, somebody like cia, dod, fbi, someone with a three letters, as they pu
