this issue which gets some attention periodically can't forget lyndon johnson gave a speech at howard universitywhich is where he articulated the concept of affirmative action which is that the speech was most remembered for but in that speech is a whole section talking about the negro family and the fact that if you look over history you start with slavery. so the man or woman. then we have the emancipation proclamation. in the men moved north because they were better jobs but they left their wives. i've taken on women that they did not marry them. then we passed the welfare act in which we said we can only get welfare if you have dependent children. this is for mothers and children. we provide this hundred and 50 euros in incentives to break things up and we used to say that all the schools with all the education and opportunity and healthcare we have to do something to nurse that family. i think he would be working hard on that issue. >> a question i have always had my mind do you think he would have gone to vietnam had not john kennedy already planted the flag? >> i.out in the book that he w
