she's been very transparent, very proud of what howard university means to her. she mean to howard and to other hbcu graduates in this position? >> it's an extreme point of pride. we do have thurgood marshal who was on the supreme court of the united states and it's interesting to note that kamala and i, actually, are children of desegregation. in the early 70s we were both in the bus. i was in a bussing program that my grandmother was affiliated with. kamala was likewise in a bussing program. we can see the fruits of that. all of that sems fr-- stems fro howard university. there's a constant stream of speakers that come through. all different types of people. other graduates. they would all come to the university and speak and we would listen and take in what they were saying. our professors as well would give us a strong sense of what our duty was to the greater society in the context of civil rights and human rights in general. so it created a real nurturing environment to create strong leader. i couldn't even begin to name all of the howard university graduate
